Sitting here in my tiny apartment, looking around at a space that is unapologetically mine, the only thought looping in my head is: How in the HELL has it already been a month?
Time really does move differently here .
Somewhere between learning train lines and rediscovering myself, things have started to click. I can now get to work, navigate the shopping areas, and make my way around Nakano without clutching onto Google Maps like a life raft. I’ve even started branching out into Shibuya—where Tower Records has, unsurprisingly, become my second home. There’s something about flipping through CDs in a city that still celebrates music physically that feels… grounding.
Like I’ve tapped into a frequency I didn’t know I was missing.

Work-wise, I’m finding my rhythm. Saturday was nearly fully booked—busy, and even a little chaotic, exactly the kind of atmosphere I thrive in. Even better, I’m starting to get repeat, which feels like a quiet little victory every time it happens!
Maybe I am doing something right.
And then there’s the creative side of things…
Opportunities to promote My Super Fiancé are starting to surface in ways I didn’t expect. A coworker invited me to a BL cosplay event next month (which feels very fitting honestly), and I’ve been hearing about other conventions where I might be able to connect with artists and product creators. So naturally my brain is already spinning with merch concepts, designs, and media tie-ins that I can connect the property with. I’m planning to start experimenting with samples soon, and Vograce seems like a solid launchpad.
Last night, I went out with a coworker to grab dumplings after work. It was a little pricier than I’d like, but it was close, convenient, and ridiculously good— so the money was ok. Also… the next round (yes there will be a next round, I’m a Go Out After Work guy now) is on her.
Which is a perfect segue into my coworkers. All of them seem really fun, really kind, and genuinely good people. I had such a strong connection with my old team at MPI that part of me was bracing for disappointment here.
I’m really glad I was wrong.
On the project front, Volume 2 of My Super Fiancé has officially been submitted for layout and review, the artist is deep into the next set of episodes, and there’s new music is on the way (the first K-pop song)! So, that’s exciting. I also have a meeting lined up with a producer here in Tokyo – just for feedback, but…

Things are moving!
A few days ago, I visited Meiji Jingu Shrine. My first time not as a tourist, but as someone just checking in to say thank you. On my last trip, I asked the Gods of the shrine to help me find a way to make the move. They did. This time, I asked for a little more guidance (and a little more luck) to make sure I get to stay.

Everything is starting to feel more and more real. Like I’m exactly where I need to be and for the first time in my life the want and the need are on the same page.
I’m happy and I’m loving every second of the adventure!
There will be more soon so…
Stay Tuned!
