If the Hallmark Channel made a BL Original Movie, Unintentional Love Story would be it.

Based on the Korean graphic novel of the webtoon of the same name by Phoebe, Unintentional Love Story (비의도적 연애담) follows hard-working Ji Won Young (Gongchan, of the idol group B1A4) who is fired from his company after a scandal he had nothing to do with. Desperate and in debt, Won Young needs the job to survive, so he tries to curry favor by tracking down the chairman’s favorite artist. He finds the missing man running a pottery shop in a remote town, but it’s clear that Yoon Tae Joon (Cha Seo Won) has no desire to be found.

But again, Ji Won Young is desperate. VERY desperate.

So, Ji Won Young decides to hang around town and secretly report whatever he can learn about Tae Joon’s self-imposed exile to his superior, who promises the act will more assuredly get him his job back. But, when feelings begin to develop between the two young men, Ji Won Young starts to question his sexuality, his motivations, and whether he even wants to return to his old life.

Despite this, what will happen when Tae Joon learns Won Young has been spying on him this entire time?

While I am not a fan of deception as a plot towards romance, it was very easy to fall in like and get behind this series. It’s simple and sleep production matched with a phenomenal cast and killer OST, it’s definitely one to follow.

Unintentional Love Story streams on WeTV (Tencent Video) with new episodes uploaded every Friday. Four of the ten episodes have aired so far.

More Unintentional Love Story soon so…
