If you’ve been following this blog at all you are well aware that I am a huge fan of the Japanese idol group Snow Man. Their catchy song, eye-popping music videos, and the fact that they are nine of the most beautiful men on the plant have put them in constant rotation on every single one of my playlist.

To those of you who are unfamiliar with this group, allow me to introduce you.  Here are my top 10 favorite music videos:

10. D.D.

The group’s first single, D.D. gave Snow Man the biggest debut in Asian history when it sold more than 1.8 million copies. D.D. was also the first male idol single in 17 years to reach the top 100 of the Oricon charts. It remained there for more than 100 weeks.

09. Secret Touch

This was actually the song that introduced me to the group as it was featured as one of the themes of the 2021 BL series Kieta Hatsukoi (My Love Mix-Up which Snow Man’s Meguro Ren (目黒蓮) was one half of the lead couple (his partner was Naniwa Danshi’s Michieda Shunsuke (道枝駿佑).

08. Snow World

This video, which was included as an extra on D.D. really sets the tone for who the guys are, as a group, and as individuals. Young, talented, and undeniably beautiful, it is clear the guys are having the time of their lives.  Another song guaranteed to get stuck in your head, the dance sequence in the video was choreographed by Snow Man’s leader Iwamoto Hikaru (岩本照).

07. Big Bang Sweet

Choreographed by Iwamoto, I was initially drawn to this video because of its coloring. There’s something outrageously 80s about the hot pinks and electric blues.

06. Black Gold

As one of the music videos featured in the film Takizawa Kabuki ZERO 2020, there’s just something incredibly sexy about this dark and gritty music video.

05. オレンジkiss (orange kiss)

The theme song from Iwamoto’s newest film My Boyfriend in Orange this sweet, mid-tempo love song currently holds the record for the top single of 2022, selling over 650,000 units in under 24 hours.

04. CRAZY F-R-E-S-H Beat

This was the first music video and there is only one word I can use to describe this video: HOT! In another video Choreographed by Iwamoto, the footwork is amazing and the way the guys move and look, are just incredibly sexy.

03. ブラザービート (Brother beat)

Serving as the theme song to the film Mr. Osomatsu, (which the group starred in as a unit), this 60s-inspired summer rock tune and the video is incredibly silly, catchy, colorful, and very very fun.

02. JUICY

The lead single for their second album Snow Labo. S2 the video is a 70s-inspired disco-pop romp of pure fun. Once again Iwamoto provided the choreography, which is perfect for the TikTok generation and has inspired several dance videos.

01. HELLO HELLO

The video, reminiscent of A-Ha’s “Take on Me”, has a very special place in my heart. It’s sweet without being overly saccharine and overall just a super beautiful song. Plus there are some adorable shots of Fukazawa Tatsuya (深澤辰哉) whose comedic timing and undeniable cuteness make him my favorite of the nine members.

Honorable Mention: YumYumYum ~SpicyGirl~

Just watch the video. You’ll get it. Note: At this point I am pretty sure Iwamaoto could find a way to make dancing to the sound of ice tea being stirred look sexy.

Yes, I’m a fanboy – so, there will be more Snow Man. Lots more!

Stay tuned…
