On Monday, 19 October, Thai entertainment giant GMMTV announced that two of its most beloved on-screen pairings were coming to an end. JoongDunk (Joong Archen Aydin and Dunk Natachai Boonprasert) and AouBoom (Aou Thanaboon Kiatniran and Boom Tharatorn Jantharaworakarn) will end their pairings as work units and go their separate ways.
The statement was posted in Thai and English on GMMTV’s official Instagram and X accounts. GMMTV called the decision mutual and respectful, saying it took each artist’s career path and future goals into account. Events and activities that were already announced will go ahead as scheduled. The company also thanked fans for supporting the four artists and said it hoped that support would continue in their future endeavors.
For JoongDunk, the news comes after a strong year. The pairing began in 2022 with Star & Sky and quickly became a fan favorite. They most recently reunited on screen in the procedural drama Dare You to Death, their first project together since 2024’s The Heart Killers. Their Eyes On You fan concert reportedly topped the world trends for two days in a row in August.
AouBoom had also been busy with fans. They held fan meetings in Macau in May 2025 and in Italy that December. The announcement has now raised questions about two projects introduced in the GMMTV 2026 line-up.
GMMTV has done this before: GreatInn, OhmNanon…. Even so, seeing two fan-favorite ships dock on the same day has left many fans heartbroken.
