I would be lying if I didn’t say that the last week was very tough.

While I’ve already spent two post talking about the heartbreak of loosing the one and only Dolly Parton, she wasn’t the only icon to pass away this week.

As a baby of the eighties, Tim Curry was a major part of my childhood. From his role as Darkness in 1985 fantasy feature Legend, to the flamboyantly evil Hexus in Ferngully: The Last Rain Forest, Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and of course The Grand High Wizard in The Worst Witch. An incredibly gifted actor he could do everything – play any character – he was a masterclass in talent.

Then, there was Peter Cullen. While most fans know him as Optimus Prime and Eeyore, he will forever be known (for me) as the bumbling Murky Dismal from Rainbow Brite. Anyone who knows me knows how important this series has been to my entire life. It taught me about the power of light – and how no one can take it from you and while Mr. Cullen was the villain, he was an iconic piece of the story.

I grew up knowing Shelley Fabares–the voice behind the 1962 hit  「Johnny Angel」–as Christine Armstrong in the Craig T. Nelson led series Coach as well as the TV movie The Great Mom Swap with Valerie Harper.

But, there have been good things too.

Naniwa Danshi (the group that brought me to Japan) will be releasing their newest single  「Moonlit」 on 21 October – a song they debut during their ND⁵ tour.

Travis Japan announced their 4th album (Title TBD) will be released on 18 November.

And lastly, Jem and the Holograms fans got a massive treat when it was announced that Ellen Bernfeld, the original signing voice of Pizzazz has returned to the property (and behind the microphone) for the newly reimagined track Click Clash」 which is out now.

Personally, the second edition of the first volume of My Super Fiancé: Hero, Interrupted was rereleased and I also have some fun music opportunities on the horizon… so that’s nice. I’m more than a little excited. And so, as it does, life pushes forward.

There can be no light without darkness. No joy without sadness. No smiles without tears. We ca– and we must– move forward. Eventually things will get easier.

There will be more soon so…

Stay Tuned!
