The right music can make or break a scene, and as a singer-songwriter, I pay very close attention to the OST (Original Soundtrack / Songs) and BGM (Background Music / Score) in the series and films I watch.
In some cases, like 2gether, Lovely Writer, and Cutie Pie, the music is what drew me to the series in the first place. Their soundtracks became chart-topping showcases for the incredible sound T-pop has to offer. They’re genuinely fantastic, and if you haven’t heard them, you absolutely should. They’re worth it.
And then there’s the 2019 Thai BL drama Until We Meet Again from Studio Wabi Sabi.
While the series as a whole is nothing short of incredible, its music is absolutely phenomenal.
Adapted from the novel The Red Thread (ด้ายแดง) by LazySheep, the series begins with the double suicide of Korn (Noppakao Dechaphatthanakun, Kao) and Intouch (Katsamonnat Namwirote, Earth), whose fathers cannot accept their love affair. Thirty years later, the couple is reborn as Dean (Thitiwat Ritprasert, Ohm) and Pharm (Natouch Siripongthon, Fluke).
THE ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK

Boy Sompob is one of the most prolific singer-songwriters in Thai BL. His songs have been used in series like Dear Doctor, I’m Coming For Soul, La Pluie, and, of course, Until We Meet Again.
Written with Ling Ling, 「The Luckiest Boy」, the overarching theme of the series, is one of those songs that, if you know the story, will make you emotional just hearing it. Especially the full-cast version.
Released in 2020, Sompob also shared his original demo of the song. A bit brighter than the original track, even in its earliest form, the song is absolutely beautiful, showcasing why he’s done as well as he has.
Written by Panat Nakrampai and Arunphong Chaiwinit, another of the series’ best tracks is 「เราจะกลับมาพบกันเสมอ」 (English: We Will Always Meet Again), performed by series stars Ritprasert and Siripongthon.
Another standout track is 「อยากบอกเธอ」 (English: I Want To Tell You), sung by Until We Meet Again actress Samantha Melanie Coates, who is comedic gold.

The special-edition soundtrack also features Kai and Earth singing 「The Luckiest Boy」, which is included on the special digital-only release.
THE SCORE
The BGM of this series really added depth to the emotion of its scenes. While much of the music consists of recurring pieces used throughout Studio Wabi Sabi productions, there are two pieces that stand out. Anyone who’s a fan of Until We Meet Again will instantly recognize these songs and how much they added to the scenes in which they were used.
「A Peaceful Sadness」 by Obi Vladicic
and 「Coming Home」 by Jeremy Wiebe
Honestly, the entire thing is worth the listen, and it’s available on iTunes, Spotify, and Qobuz. However, in addition to the commercially available soundtrack, the Thai music platform JOOX has issued two additional releases centered around Until We Meet Again.
First up is an exclusive EP featuring both the vocal and instrumental versions of 「พบเพื่อจาก」 (English: Until We Meet Again), performed by T-pop star Namcha, as well as 「เราจะกลับมาพบกันเสมอ」 (English: We Will Always Meet Again), performed by Ohm and Fluke. But the real treat for fans of the series is the inclusion of four score pieces: 「My Funny Family」, the friendship theme; 「The Old Sadeness Piano」, heard when Pharm remembers Dean; 「The Old Sadness」, Korn and Earth’s theme; and 「Who Are You?」, which is played primarily during Pharm’s memories of the past.

Next is The Complete Soundtrack, which expands considerably on the physical CD release included with the series’ box set. It contains all ten songs from the original CD, along with instrumental versions of each track, giving fans both the original vocal performances and their accompanying arrangements. Essentially, it offers the best of both worlds: the original songs and the chance to enjoy the soundtrack in full karaoke mode.

There will be more music reviews soon so…
Stay tuned!
