I can’t believe it’s been five years since the seven bright-eyed Naniwa lucky boys made their debut with the sugar-pop anthem 「初心LOVE」 (English: Beginner Love). Serving as one of the theme songs for the 2021 Saturday morning romance 『消えた初恋』 (English: My Love Mix-Up!), starring group member Shunsuke Michieda (Mitchy) the song not only introduced me to the seven stars, but opened the door to an entire symphony of talent.

Since then, Naniwa Danshi have grown from adorable newcomers into one of the brightest forces in modern J-Pop. Through chart-topping singles, sold-out tours, acclaimed dramas, and feature films, the group has expanded far beyond their Kansai roots while never losing the colorful spirit, infectious optimism, and genuine warmth that made them so easy to fall in love with in the first place.

Now, with the release of 『ND⁵』, their first anniversary collection and the opening celebration of their fifth anniversary year, Naniwa Danshi invite fans to revisit the songs, memories, and milestones that shaped their journey while offering an exciting glimpse of where they’re headed next.

While the album celebrates the memories and milestones of the past five years, its 15-song core tracklist includes ten newly recorded songs, making ND⁵ feel less like a retrospective and more like a stepping stone between the group’s remarkable first chapter and the adventures that lie ahead.

  • 「Celebrate

Kicking off the collection, the pre-release track embodies everything fans have come to love about Naniwa Danshi. Bright, infectious, and wrapped in the candy-colored bubblegum pop that has become one of the group’s trademarks, the song welcomes listeners into a pastel dreamworld overflowing with gratitude for the fans who helped make the past five years possible. At the same time, there’s an unmistakable sense of anticipation running through the song, as if the group is already eagerly looking toward the adventures still waiting on the horizon.

  • Gimme The Day

The only way to describe this track is adorable with an edge. the newest music video to be released (17 June) it’s just another perfect example of a group who’s growing up, but not forgetting who they were. Instead, they’re weaving the threads of the past into the tapestry of their future. It’s a wonderful song.

  • ビーマイベイベー」 (English: Be My Baby)

One of the album’s many newly recorded tracks, the song  serves as the theme song for the upcoming film 『山口くんはワルくない』 (English: Yamaguchi-kun Isn’t So Bad), starring group member Kyohei Takahashi. Tailor-made for Naniwa Danshi, the song blends an energetic pop-rock sound with an earnest declaration of love delivered in Kansai dialect. According to the group’s label, the track was conceived as a passionate Kansai love song, pairing youthful energy with the sincere romantic optimism that has become one of Naniwa Danshi’s defining strengths. The group recently amplified that personal touch by releasing a fully self-produced music video.

  • 「HARD WORK」

Featured as the theme song for the drama Yokohama Neighbors Season 1, starring group member Ryusei Onishi alongside fellow STARTO talent Yoshitaka Hara of timelesz, the song is incredibly playful, but it also signaled a brand-new vibe for Naniwa Danshi: darker tones, sexier concepts, and an image that is steadily shifting into adulthood.

  • 「ズッキュン・ザ・ムービー」 (English: Zukkyun the MOVIE)
  • 僕がカワイくて君がカワイくて」 (English: I’m Cute and You’re Cute)
  • 「Black Nightmare」
  • Better run
  • Hide and Seek
  • 「アシンメトリー」 (English: ASYMMETRY)

The first release from the group’s 4th double A-side CD single, the track was featured as the theme to TV Asahi’s Oshidora Saturday drama Revenge Spy, starring Naniwa’s fearless (and absolutely adorable) leader Ohashi. The result is a sensual fever dream layered with pulsing beats and a delicious air of mystery. It was one of the group’s first steps into sophistication and sex appeal instead of relying on their “boy-next-door” charm.

  • 「Message
  • ドン!ドン!やったるで!」 (English: DON! DON! Yattaru de!)
  • 「Never Romantic」

Featured as the theme song for the romantic comedy film Romantic Killer, starring group member Kyohei Takahashi alongside fellow Naniwa lucky boy Joichiro Fujiwara, the song is bright, playful, and irresistibly catchy.
