Taisei Fukumoto is an enigma. I first became aware of the young celebrity during an interview I conducted in 2023. I found him to be a bright, enigmatic young man brimming with charm, confidence, and just a touch of spicy swagger. After starting his solo career in 2024, he continued to drift along the edges of my orbit, his music a cute compendium to the release of his contemporaries.

Following another interview with him, I kept up with his subsequent music releases and now, he’s unveiled his debut album.

Co-written and composed by Fukumoto alongside Kan Yamamoto, ｢angel wing｣ feels deeply personal. A polished J-rock track bursting with bright colors, flashing lights, and driving guitar lines, it’s a transmission from someone rebuilding himself in real time. And it’s fantastic.

As a lead track, the song sets the tone for an entire album filled with something unique, energetic, and fun.
