Episode Three is one of the episodes where I start crying before the series opener and I don’t stop until after it’s ended.
SYNOPSIS
The past. Shortly after Korn and In commit suicide, In’s best friend, Somkrit (Tanapon Sukumpantanasan, Perth) is with their group of friends discussing a group project, one In helped with. The professor gave one of In’s assignments to another student to give to Somkrit. He immediately starts telling a story about how In made him try one of his burnt omelets, and how mad he got at him when Somkrit tells him how terrible it was. Maybe it’s because Perth is a great actor, or maybe it’s because I’m a sympathetic crier, but every time he cries, I cry.

Another scene from the past shows In and Korn’s first meeting. After In introduces himself, he tells Korn that he likes him and that he’s going to start hitting on him, even though his friends remind him that Korn’s father is a mafia loan shark. However, In doesn’t care. Korn is NOT his father and has done nothing wrong, and In likes him and promises that one day Korn will like him too.

The present, Dean is in a bad mood. The overnight trip has him stressed, and when he’s stressed, he’s even more strict than normal. To the point where even Win (his best friend) doesn’t want to deal with him. So, they send Pharm, with whom Dean is instantly transformed into the personification of jello. On the bus, Win realizes that Dean is the only one who has a star-shaped Look Choup, while everyone else only received simple shapes. In thanks for the food, Team sneaks some candid pics of Dean while at the camp.

A few days later, while Pharm is debating on how best to get home after class (his car is in the shop) a transformer explodes which sends him into a panic attack. Luckily Dean is close by and he rushes Pharm to a doctor. When he takes Pharm home, he casually drops that he’s single, and then slyly gets his number.

As thanks, Pharm invites Dean to breakfast the next morning. Dean‘s request – a simple omelet over rice. Then, he shows up much earlier than expected, before Pharm has even had a chance to shower. As they’re about to eat, Pharm is transported back into the memory of In, promising Korn to make him a delicious omelet. He bursts into tears.

THOUGHTS
An incredibly emotional episode, it is also one of my favorites of the series. In’s bright and positive spirit, and how he refuses to give up on his feelings for Korn, even when his friends are warning him against him. He doesn’t care. It’s one of those true love moments and the music that scores the scene was perfectly chosen. It’s bright, it’s hopeful, which is exactly who In is at this point in the series, and though Korn puts on a stern face, the hint of his feelings toward the forward In are apparent. These characters had so much potential to be and do anything they wanted and because of prejudice, their love was cut tragically short. As much as I grew to love these characters in this episode, I also grew to hate the men who ripped them apart.
