A fabulous alien scientist named Frank-N-Furter once went on (ad nauseam) about a man he made in a lab – a man who made an entire generation shiver in anticipation for his reveal. His name was Rocky, and in the 1970s he truly was a most beautiful thing.
While there’s no denying that Dr. Frank-N-Furter was a genius – albeit an evil genius, but genius nonetheless, if he were to replicate that experiment today, I suspect his creation might look a little something like Iwamoto Hikaru.
Born on 17 May 1993 this 5’11 29-year-old with only 4% body fat is the leader of Snow Man and is, in my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful men on the planet.
He was also recently named the body to have in 2022 by Tarzan Magazine.*
However, he’s more than just another beefcake who looks good without a shirt.
A piano player since the age of 4, he loves soccer and has been dancing since he was 6. He was signed to Johnny & associates in 2006 and in 2012 became one of the original members of Snow Man (alongside Watanabe, Sakuma, Fukazawa, Miyadate, and Abe).
With a body that rivals the world’s top athletes, health and fitness are major parts of Iwamoto’s life. There is more than one video on the Johnnys Jr YouTube channel that shows him demonstrating the proper ways to work out.
Yes, he’s hot. I know it. He knows it. Everybody knows it. But what’s wonderful about Iwamoto is the fact that he’s basically like “Yeah? So what? It’s not that big of a deal.”
From everything I have heard about Iwamoto is that, yes, he is one of the most beautiful people in the industry, but he’s also one of the sweetest – and there are plenty of videos that show just how easy it is for Iwamoto to laugh at himself.
One of my favorite facts about Iwamaoto is that, in addition to being Snow Man’s leader, he’s also one of their main choreographers. The music videos and performance numbers he has choreographed are incredibly impressive and he’s been doing it since the group’s inception.
His footwork is magnificent, and something I noticed right away when I watched my first Snow Man music video Crazy F-R-E-S-H Beat.
He was also responsible for the choreography for JUICY, the lead single for the groups new album Snow Labo S2.
2022 was a very busy year for Iwamoto. In addition to his work with Snow Man – which includes the film Mr. Osomatsu, he portrayed Frank Abagnale Jr in the Japanese production of the musical adaptation of Catch Me If You Can – for which he received rave reviews. He also starred in the film モエカレはオレンジ色 (My Boyfriend in Orange) alongside Nukumi Meru which can be pre-ordered here.
Closing out 2022 with a major tour, Iwamoto and the rest of Snow Man, are on track to make 2023 even bigger.
