It’s no secret that actress Jennette McCurdy apparently had the stage mother from hell. The stories are so commonplace, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone in Hollywood who hasn’t heard at least something about what she put her daughter through just to make her famous.
While many child actors have similar stories (Stage Moms are as common as the housefly in Hollywood) what makes McCurdy special is that she didn’t succumb to it. She could havve, and truth be told, she almost did, but she didn’t. She came out of it, largely due to the fact that, as the title of her autobiography I’m Glad My Mom Died suggests, her mother… well, died.
Published through Simon & Schuster, the official website states the book is: A heartbreaking and hilarious memoir by iCarly and Sam & Cat star Jennette McCurdy about her struggles as a former child actor—including eating disorders, addiction, and a complicated relationship with her overbearing mother—and how she retook control of her life.
I just purchased the book and am honestly can’t wait to get started. You can purchase the book blow.
