I have loved watching Travis Japan evolve.
They went from the cuddly cubs who made their Western debut on America’s Got Talent in 2022 to the ferocious kings of the jungle they are today. It’s been one hell of a ride, and I can’t believe their fourth studio album, 「Jewelry Basket」, arrives in just over a month.
To kick off the era, they’ve dropped their first pre-release track from the album,「EGO」, and it’s a scorcher!
Set on a strange (and incredibly sexy) planet, the seven tigers do what they do best: move their body with scintillating synergy while singing about a love that’s addictive and selfish. It’s a song about passion that’s theatrical and self-serving. Intoxicating indulgence.
The video amplifies just how much these seven men have grown up since the release of JUST DANCE!!」four years ago. Genta is in a crop top, and Shime’s open shirt shows off just how jacked he is, while the other five are dripping with so much sweat and sensuality that the video should come with an 18+ warning.
「EGO」also (perfectly) severe as the theme for TV Asahi’s new drama 『はだかんぼうたち』 (English: The Naked Ones), which stars group member Genta Matsuda (the sexy tiger) as Ryo Sabasaki, a shoemaker who isn’t shy about approaching anyone who catches his eye. He doesn’t care if she has a partner, or that even his closest friends call him a playboy. Driven by desire, he keeps drifting between two women, but is either of them special enough to tame his wild heart?
These aren’t little cubs anymore. They’re tigers on the prowl, ready to devour us, mind, body and soul.
You can pre-order 「Jewelry Basket」here and visit the album’s special site here. There will be more Travis Japan soon so…
Stay Tuned!
