I stick by my previous statement, 2026 is truly the summer the 1980s returned, giving us things that just feel like they belong together:

For more than forty years, Masters of the Universe has been begging for the sort of ridiculously over-the-top rock anthem that could shake Castle Grayskull to its foundations – and with the release of the film this summer Guitar God Brian May along with composer Daniel Pemberton, and The Darkness had released the vocal cut of ｢The Legend of Eternia｣.
As epic as one would expect it to be, it’s just an incredibly fun track.
Daniel Pemberton’s score combines orchestral grandeur, synths, and Brian May’s unmistakable guitar into an unapologetically ’80s soundtrack that is in a word, perfection.
Then, The Darkness comes along and runs the sound through an amplifier with a falsetto that would make even Freddie Mercury smile. Justin Hawkins’ voice is theatrically ridiculous – which is very important, because that’s exactly what Masters of the Universe is…
Ridiculous. It always has been. That’s part of the fun happiness it brings.
Now if they’d just release the She-Ra theme featured in Adora’s glorious theatrical debut, I’d be one happy 80s baby.
