「Close Our Eyes」 has always been one of my favorite Tiffany cuts. Released in 1995, the song paired the queen of ‘80s bubblegum pop with one of the era’s most strikingly handsome teen idols, Tommy Page.

Featured on Tiffany’s Asia-exclusive compilation All the Best, it was promoted as a special collaboration between two artists who continued to enjoy devoted fanbases throughout the region.

Written by Kim Bullard, Amy Sky, Marc Jordan, and Dave Taggart, 「Close Our Eyes」 tells the story of lovers separated by time and circumstance, by connected by an everlasting devotion. Far removed from the candy-coated pop that first made the two household names, the recording embraces a lush adult contemporary sound that showcases both artists at their finest.

For Tiffany fans, the track represents a fascinating bridge between eras. While fans adored the innocence of covers like 「I Think We’re Alone Now」, 「I Saw Him Standing There」, and 「Hold an Old Friend’s Hand」, she wasn’t a child anymore and had already begun expanding her artistic horizons introducing a more mature sound and revealed a vocalist capable of far greater nuance than her teen-idol image had suggested. 「Close Our Eyes」 allowed the singer to deliver a sweeping romantic performance filled with warmth, restraint, and emotional depth.

For Tommy Page fans, the song fits neatly into a broader chapter of his career. During the mid-1990s, he frequently collaborated with artists from across Asia, including Sally Yeh and later Amy Mastura.

Despite its strengths, 「Close Our Eyes」 remained frustratingly elusive– available primarily through second-hand imports and fan-to-fan sharing. A lost gem in the diverse and glorious discographies of two criminally underrated artists that seemed destined to remain a treasured secret known only to collectors and devoted fans.

Until now.

Thanks to Tiffany, who has officially released the recording through Tiffany Tunes, LLC, 「Close Our Eyes」 has finally found its way onto digital download and streaming platforms more than thirty years after its original release.

Accompanying the release is a stunning watercolor-style portrait that perfectly captures the song’s wistful romanticism – serving as the perfect visual companion to a song that, after decades in the shadows, has finally found its way into the spotlight.

A beautiful reunion of two beloved pop icons and a long-overdue rediscovery of one of the hidden treasures of the 1990s. The song can be purchased on all major retailers including Qobuz which offers a 16-Bit/44.1 kHz Stereo download.
