Following the adventurous experimentation of their sophomore album 『Snow Labo. S2』, Snow Man returned on 15 March 2023 with their eighth single, 『タペストリー |  W』. 

As the group’s second double A-side, the release showcased two very different sides of the group: the sweeping romantic drama of ｢タペストリー｣ (English: Tapestry) and the fierce, high-energy spectacle of ｢W｣. 

｢タペストリー｣ served as the theme song for the fantasy romance film My Happy Marriage, which starred group member Ren Meguro in his first leading film role alongside Mio Imada. Adapted from the anime (and light novel franchise) of the same name, the film also featured Ryusei Onishi (Naniwa Danshi) and former STARTO talent Arata Sato (currently a member of the group IMP.) in supporting roles.

Tender and cinematic, the song captures the beauty of connection, suggesting that even the most fragile threads can come together to create something extraordinary.

｢W｣  was the theme to the NTV drama 『大病院占拠』 (English: Hospital Under Siege) which stars Sho Sakurai of one of ARASHI. Aggressive and rock-driven, the track about the meaning of life plays off the duality of choice. With lyrics about fighting for oneself and pushing through the darkness for the people you love it was a perfect fir for the theme.

While the candy-colored sights and sounds of songs like “HELLO HELLO” and “Orange kiss” will always hold a special place in my heart, It was wonderful to have watched the group as they evolved from boys to men. There is a disco-infused playfulness to the coupling track ｢Luv Classic｣ that made it an instant favorite, while ｢NO SURRENDER!｣ perfectly captures the group’s trademark ganbatte spirit. Brimming with optimism and determination, the track encourages listeners to keep moving forward no matter what obstacles stand in their way, making it the perfect theme song for their variety program 『Sore Snow Man ni Yarasete Kudasai』.

Commercially, 『タペストリー / W』 debuted at number one on both the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart and the Billboard Japan Hot 100, selling more than 900,000 physical copies in its first week – making it one of the best-selling singles of 2023. Critically, the release was praised for showcasing the group’s remarkable versatility. ｢W｣ highlighted Snow Man’s explosive performance power while ｢タペストリー｣ revealed a more romantic and emotionally expressive side of the group.
