Naniwa Danshi has always been –  and always will be – incredibly special to me. They’re the group that introduced me to Japanese BL through the adorable series My Love Mix-Up (消えた初恋), starring member Shunsuke Michieda (Mitchy) alongside Snow Man’s Ren Meguro. They were also the first J-pop CD I ever owned, personally opening the doors to the world of STARTO ENTERTAINMENT—as well as all the music and magic that have defined the past five years of my life and inspired my move to Japan.

Now, to celebrate their musical journey, J-pop’s most colorful cuties are releasing their first-ever compilation album, ND⁵!

Built around the concept of “Naniwa Danshi to the 5th power,” the album isn’t just a reflection of where they’ve been, but the culmination of everything they’ve learned along the way—the moments and memories that have shaped them into the group (and upstanding young men) they have become.

And in true Naniwa Danshi fashion, it’s not one, not two, not even three versions of the album… but five, each one as unique as the members themselves.

Centered around a core tracklist of 15 songs (the exact track list has yet to be revealed), ND⁵ does introduces new material, including 「Be My Baby」, the theme song for the film Yamaguchi-kun Isn’t So Bad starring member Kyohei Takahashi, as well as the bright, happy groovy track 「Gimme The Day」.

From there, each version expands into its own “ND” world, complete with distinct visuals and exclusive bonus content.

The Limited Edition [laND] version includes a bonus disc of nine “hidden gems” personally selected by the members—songs that trace the group’s emotional and artistic evolution. It also features the music video and making-of for the new track 「Celebrate」, along with footage from their BON BON VOYAGE release event in Tokyo.

The Limited Edition [ND] version offers a more intimate look at the group, centered around a special 5th anniversary project: a private one-night, two-day villa trip where all seven members reflect on the journey they’ve taken together, as well as the music video and behind-the-scenes content for 「Gimme The Day」.

The Limited Edition [diamoND] version treats fans to the 「Diamond Smile -Anniversary ver.-」 a newly recorded version of one of their most beloved Jr. era tracks, with additional lyrics and a brand-new music video for 「Because I just love you」, which ranked #1 in a fan voting project, along with its making-of footage.

The Regular [arouND] Edition features a special bonus track written by all seven members, described as a heartfelt “love letter” to their fans.

Last, but certainly not least is the FAMILY CLUB.STORE Online Exclusive [frieND] version – which serves as the crowning glory of this 5th year celebration! Packaged in a deluxe LP-size jacket designed to showcase the members on a grander scale, it’s three discs of pure Naniwa Danshi bliss.  In addition 15 core tracks, disc two features 15 fan-selected songs from their Jr. era:

1. Because I just love you
2. Time View~果てなく続く道~
3. Timeless Love
4. ありふれた恋じゃ、もう満たされない
5. 2 Faced
6. Soda Pop Love

Disc three complies all 10 previously released singles, from their debut 「UBU LOVE」 through 「Doki It」—allowing fans to experience the past, present, and future of some of the most sparkling young men in J-pop.

While you can order the first four versions wherever Japanese music and movies are sold (such as CD Japan and Tower Records) The Family Club version can ONLY be ordered through the family club, and is available here.

There will be more Naniwa Danshi soon so…
