With their fourth studio release, J-POP’s sparkliest boy group – Naniwa Danshi – take listeners on a dazzling sonic adventure—venturing into musical territory they’ve never explored before, and the result might just be their best release yet.

The Greatest Voyage」kicks off the album with a breezy, sunlit pop-rock track that sets the stage for this expedition of sound—think ocean breeze and endless horizons. The journey sails onward into the high-energy anthem 「Over The Horizon!」(which seems tailor made for an anime theme), building on the sense of adventure and discovery that drives the album forward. Perfectly capturing the thrill of midsummer heat, 「ギラギラサマー」keeps the momentum alive, delivering a full-blown disco-dance beat—sun-drenched, wildly upbeat, and so irresistibly catchy it’s already made its way into a ROUND1 commercial.

One of my personal favorites from the group, 「Doki it」infuses a pulse of rock into their signature glitter-pop sound, creating one of the most electrifying—and defining—tracks of their career. That same adrenaline rush carries into two of their most seductive offerings: 「Thrill Drive」revs things up with a disco-inspired beat that trades beachside sunshine for the sleek thrill of the neon nights. It’s the soundtrack to fast cars, spinning lights, and everything a night out on the town promises. Then, just when you think the ride’s over, 「Circus Night」rolls in—capturing the playful chaos that erupts after the club lights flicker on, when the real fun begins.

溺れて愛」dives into deeper emotional waters, bringing a sleek, neon-lit city-pop shimmer to the album, capturing those heart racing moments where your senses are swirling and you’re “drowning in love” for that one unforgettable person. But even as they explore more mature soundscapes, they never stray far from home. 「moshimo」 is a sweet, sparkly moment to rest and reflect—a reminder that, though they’re growing up, they haven’t lost the sugar-sweet glitter that first made fans fall in love with them. That same balance of evolution and familiarity shines in 「誘惑DANCE」, where flirtation becomes motion, layered with just enough of the new Naniwa sound to show how far they’ve come—without ever losing sight of who they are.

Because I just love you」 keeps the heartstrings gently tugged, leading into「コイスルヒカリ」— featured in the film We Don’t Know Love Yet, starring Naniwa Danshi’s own Ryusei Onishi— is pure Naniwa sugar: tender, glowing, and perfectly placed within the album’s voyage. As we near the journey’s end, 「H.E.L.L.O」 with it’s soft synths and the delicate yet powerful of the guy’s voices, it’s not just one of my favorite tracks on the album—it’s one of the group’s best, period. It’s beautiful.

There’s something incredibly sincere about「ありがとう心から」I believe that the group means it when they tell their fans “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart”. The group’s first official digital single,「勇気100%」was featured in the animated film Nintama Rantaro the Movie: The Strongest Strategist of the Dokutake Ninja Squad which features the voices of Naniwa Danshi’s Ryusei Onishi and Joichiro Fujiwara!

As with every voyage, it wouldn’t be complete without a few unexpected detours—and the unit tracks (featured exclusively on Limited Edition 2) offer just that. 「Devil or Angel」 pairs Mitchy with Kyohei in a sultry good-vs-evil duet laced with BL undertones. Mitchy, of course, takes on the role of angel—but a mischievous one—while Kyohei leans into his devilish side with irresistible charm. It’s sexy. I need someone to write a drama based on this song and cast both of them in the leads.

TOYSTYLE」 from Ryusei and Nagao, is a hip-hop–tinged burst of color and chaos on a candy-coated rollercoaster. The music video is just as wild—bright, bold, and unapologetically playful. It’s exactly the kind of fun we’ve come to expect from these two.

Then there’s the disco-inspired「ADULTY」from Nishihata, Fujiwara, and Ohashi. Literally bathed in a new, more mature light—this song is sultry, confident, and incredily cool. Between the sharp choreography and one steamy shower scene with a soaking wet Nishihata, all I can say is… damn.

Rounding out the voyage is the Regular Edition (CD Only), which includes the title track 「ボンボンボヤージュ」— clearly made for the stage— its energy practically demands an audience, especially as the members call out to fans while riding the trams. It’s vibrant, dynamic, and full of that signature Naniwa charm. And finally, there’s the Disney-like wonder of 「Seven seas」— a jungle-infused pop parade that sails the album into its perfect sunset. It’s theatrical, joyful, and the ideal sendoff for the album.

Limited Edition 1 also includes a blu-ray or DVD of the music videos 「ギラギラサマー」and 「Over The Horizon!」as well as the behind-the-scenes Making Of for both and clocks in at around 62 minutes.

Limited Edition 2 includes a blu-ray or DVD disc of the unit music videos and a Making Of feature clocking in around 53 minutes.

I’ll admit—I might be a little biased when it comes to Naniwa Danshi (they were my gateway into STARTO, after all), but BON BON VOYAGE truly is a top-tier pop album. From the sparkling opener to the playful, genre-hopping detours and emotional slow burns, it delivers everything you could hope for from a modern idol group. Every track feels intentional, energetic, and 100% Naniwa Danshi. There’s not a single skip in sight—just one unforgettable stop after another on a journey I can’t wait to take again.

You can order your copy of BON BON VOYAGE wherever Japanese music / movies are sold, including CD JAPAN!

There will be more Naniwa Danshi soon so…

Stay Tuned!
