Based on the novel of the same name by Hungrybird (ฮังกรีเบิร์ด), Memory in the Letter (ทรงจำในอักษร) is a supernatural tale of romance and mystery. It stars some incredibly talented actors, including Napavit Tewaphankul (Parky) as Songjam, a young man with a troubled past, Pichayutt Chatchawansombut (Beck) as Aksorn, a rebellious soul seeking solace,  and Atirut Kittipattana  (Can) as Kyo, a doctor with a secret identity.

After a heated argument with his father, Aksorn (Beck) relocates to a new apartment on the top floor of an old building. A meteor shower, accompanied by an earthquake, occurs, and the following day, Aksorn makes a startling discovery-his mirror has transformed into a portal to another universe, specifically the bedroom of a young man named Songjam (Parky).  As their connection deepens, the two young men embark on a love story that defies the boundaries of their separate worlds, with the mirror serving as a bridge between them.

However, the plot thickens when Aksorn stumbles upon a novel that seems to hold intimate knowledge about his relationship with Songjam  -details that only the two of them could possibly know. The mystery deepens as the author’s identity remains a secret, with only a single clue-their name, Likit. This enigma adds a layer of suspense and intrigue to the already captivating story.

During another meteor shower, Songjam leaps into Aksorn’s world through the mirror. However, while he does find himself in the right realm, he’s almost thirty years too early. Luckily, he meets a kind young woman, Likit (Nattatida Klinsuwan, Pear) and Pallop (Pattarapol Kantapoj, Dew), who are Aksorn’s parents in the future. As the years pass, he grows closer to the young couple, and eventually, he confides in Likit about the truth about himself and his story. It’s a story she begins to turn into a novel, the same novel Aksorn later finds online, creating a complex web of relationships and time travel.

Changing his name to KYO, Songjam – now a doctor – reunites with  Likit and Pallop under bittersweet circumstances when the two arrive at the hospital after an auto accident. Though Likit succumbs to her injuries, Kyo can save the baby. Pallop then reveals to him the name of the child, Aksorn. They are his lovers’ parents, a poignant twist that adds depth to the narrative.

Produced by Studio Say-Yes, the series currently airs on WeTV. A relatively new production house, Memory in the Letter is an incredible feat of storytelling, acting, and production. Beautifully done, the series is one of the best I’ve seen out of Thailand this year.  It’s also got a beautiful theme song.

The finale airs next Saturday on WeTV. I am excited to see how it wraps up!
