Picking up where episode two left off, Seok is once again looking at Ha Yeon, who’s been assigned as his editor for the last few segments of his online novel.
As a fan of Seok’s work, Ha Yeon is very excited to be working with him. A fact he reiterates at a party celebrating him as the newest hire to Sin Bi Publishing, which Seok attends. Ha Yeon gets very drunk, so this time, Seok takes care of him, until his boyfriend, Kim Jin Hyeok (Kim Jeong Seok) arrives to take him home.
Seok recognizes him immediately as his past lord, who stood between him and his beloved Ha Yeon in their first life (and who also had him killed). Too shocked to do anything, he stands there, watching his beloved drive away.
The next morning, on their way to an editorial meeting, Seok asks Ha Yeon about who exactly Jin Hyeok is to him. Though he says he’s just “a friend” there is something more there. A baseball player, Jin Hyeok came back to Korea during the off-season specifically for Ha Yeon.
In the meeting, Seok comes face to face with Jeong Ha Jin (Jung Hyun Ji), Ha Yeon’s elder sister, who has the same face as Ha Yeon Seok fell in love with more than 300 years ago. He’s shocked and also extremely irritated at Sin Bi.
However, she makes a very good point, by saying “Would it make any difference?” She knows Seok is upset and confused, but she also knows he’s developing feelings for Ha Yeon and even though his sister looks like the woman he loved in the past, they’re not the same person. The person he loves is Ha Yeon.
Pushing his feelings down into the darkness, Seok is incredibly rude to Ha Yeon, forcing him to leave his apartment. But after seeing a gift he gave him, similar to one he gave love, in a past life, he chases after him, wiping away his tears. Ha Yeon kisses Seok first, but Seok kisses him back.
There was a lot that happened in these short 25 minutes, including that kiss. It’s a pivotal moment in the story and development of not just the lead couples relationship, but also in Seok’s character, who is growing.
