Ask anyone who truly knows me, and they’ll tell you that ’80s pop icon Tiffany has always been one of my biggest musical inspirations. From denim jackets to silver sneakers, heartfelt ballads to punk-rock anthems, she not understands music at its core, but she was one of the voices that helped a little gay boy in Montana to follow his dreams.

So it surprised everyone when, instead of starting with a Tiffany cover, I opened with Julie Brown and Toni Basil on my first EP. Eventually, 「If Love Is Blind」, 「I Think We’re Alone Now」, and 「Kid on a Corner」 made their way onto Star Stealer, but the very first Tiffany song I ever recorded was her single 「You and Me」 from The Jetsons Movie soundtrack.

Written by Steven McClintock, Tim James, and George Tobin, the song is a pop-rock anthem about love and connection. At the time of its original release, Tiffany herself was transitioning from mall-tour teen idol into a more mature pop sound, mirroring a shift I was experiencing as I moved away from what the press once labeled the “wholesome homo” into a more defined singer-songwriter identity.

So I did what anyone in my position would do: I sent the track to one of the song’s original writers, Steven McClintock. In a true full-circle moment, he not only remixed it, but also contributed new backing vocals, something that felt like a genuine dream realized.

Now, the track finds new life as part of the My Super Fiancé soundtrack, connecting my love of storytelling with my love of music, and bridging the artists who helped shape my early creative world with the one I’m building now.

「You + Me」 is available now on digital platforms worldwide, including Qobuz, where it can be downloaded in 16-bit/48 kHz stereo.

There will be more music / My Super Fiancé news soon so…
