The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece stormed onto screens last week, delivering a high-seas spectacle packed with sharper humor, higher stakes, and a kaleidoscope of color who’s beauty is second only to Mackenyu’s rippling muscles as the greatest swordsman in the world, Roronoa Zoro.

As I stated in my review of season one, I am not familiar with the manga – or the anime, but this latest chapter leans harder into everything that made the first season such an enjoyable piece of television: vibrant world-building, razor-edged humor, and moments of emotional sincerity that pulls you into the world of these characters. There is just something seriously delicious about this series.

Zoro has always been the crew’s steel backbone—stoic, lethal, and fiercely loyal to his friends —but season two sharpens him into something even more. He’s a man with flaws. Lots of them, but now he’s starting to deal with them.

Tony Tony Chopper was my favorite part of the season (Besides shirtless Zoro) – and KATY SEGAL!

All in all the series was fantastic. I can’t wait for season three!
More to come so…
Stay tuned!
