As I prepare to move to the other side of the planet, I’ve found myself with long stretches of quiet to sit with everything that’s changing. It’s a literal dream come true, yes, but as Glinda noted, as strange as it seems, getting exactly what you want can be… well, complicated. That, however, is the magic of change. If it were easy, the people, places, and moments that shaped the last two decades of my life wouldn’t have meant as much as they do.

I’ve been blessed with an incredible journey.

In these in-between hours, I’ve been returning to the stories and songs that feel like emotional home base. When it comes to Thai BL dramas, there are a handful that really seem to resonate with me. This list is by no means definitive and not ranked in any particular order. It’s simply ten series that bring me comfort, joy, and that soft, familiar warmth that makes saying goodbye feel a little less sharp.

  1. Until We Meet Again – Studio Wabi Sabi
This series means the world to me. It’s tragic, but beautiful. Until We Meet Again (ด้ายแดง) weaves past and present through the story of two university students drawn together by an inexplicable connection rooted in a tragic love from another lifetime. As Dean (Ohm) and Pharm (Fluke) navigate their growing feelings, fragments of the past resurface, revealing a story of loss, guilt, and enduring devotion that refuses to fade across generations. Anchored by themes of reincarnation and healing, the series ultimately becomes a cathartic meditation on forgiveness and the idea that love, once begun, rarely truly ends.
  1. Shine – Be On Cloud
Set against the political unrest and social upheaval of Thailand between 1969 and 1971, Shine ( ชาย) is one of the most beautiful series I’ve ever seen unfolding as a sweeping historical romance between two men from vastly different worlds. Trin (Apo), a disciplined economist shaped by duty and expectation, crosses paths with Thanwa (Mile), a free-spirited idealist whose beliefs challenge everything Trin thought he understood about freedom, identity, and love. As their bond deepens, they are pulled into a turbulent era resistant to difference, where personal desire collides with societal pressure and dangerous power structures. The “Acoustic” version presents a more distilled cut of the story, emphasizing the emotional core of their relationship and the quiet, defiant tenderness that grows between them even as the world around them threatens to tear them apart.
  1. He’s Coming to Me – GMMTV
This was the series that introduced me to the wonderful world of BL, and as such it will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart. Tender, supernatural, and quietly heartbreaking, He’s Coming to Me (เขามาเชงเม้งที่ข้างๆ หลุมผมครับ) tells the story of Med (Singto), a lonely ghost tethered to his grave, and Thun (Ohm), the only living person who can see him… (or so he thinks). As they investigate the mystery surrounding Med’s death, their companionship deepens into a gentle romance that transcends the boundary between life and afterlife. The series balances humor, melancholy, and hope, exploring themes of belonging, memory, and the ache of loving someone you may ultimately have to let go of.
  1. Peach of Time – WeTv
Bittersweet and dreamlike, Peach of Time (시간의 복숭아) follows a young Korean man who travels to Thailand after the death of his close friend, only to encounter Peach, a mysterious boy connected to memories that refuse to stay buried. Blending elements of grief, time distortion, and quiet romance, the series unfolds like a gentle meditation on loss and the lingering presence of those we love. Its emotional core lies in acceptance: learning that moving forward does not mean leaving someone behind, but carrying them differently.
  1. KinnPorche – Be On Cloud
This high-octane fusion of romance and crime drama, changed the landscape of the genre forever (and for the better) KinnPorsche (คินน์พอร์ช เดอะซีรีส์) plunges viewers into the dangerous world of rival mafia families, where college student and underground bartender Porsche (Apo) is forced into becoming bodyguard to Kinn (Mile), the heir of a powerful clan. What begins as a reluctant arrangement bristling with tension gradually ignites into a fierce, intoxicating bond shaped by loyalty, vulnerability, and survival. Beneath the violence and luxury lies a story about trust in a world where betrayal is currency, and love becomes both a weakness and a weapon.
  1. Manner of Death – WeTV
This is by far the most mature series on the list, trading school corridors for crime scenes, Manner of Death (พฤติการณ์ที่ตาย) follows forensic pathologist Dr. Bun (Tul), who uncovers suspicious evidence in what appears to be a suicide, pulling him into a web of corruption and danger. His uneasy alliance with the enigmatic Tan (Max) gradually transforms from suspicion to fierce devotion as they navigate threats from powerful figures determined to bury the truth. Dark, tense, and adult, it’s less about butterflies and more about trust forged under pressure. Romance here feels like a lifeline thrown across a stormy river.
  1. My School President – GMMTV
This one is serotonin in drama form. It’s also one of my favorite on the list as it introduced the world to Gemini and Fourth. Student council president Tinn (Gemini) secretly adores Gun (Fourth) the earnest leader of a struggling music club facing disbandment. Instead of confessing outright, he quietly engineers ways to keep Gun’s band alive, turning school politics into an act of devotion. What unfolds is a gentle, music-soaked coming-of-age story about first love, ambition, and the courage to be seen. It’s soft, sincere, and so sweet it could probably cure seasonal depression.
  1. Lovely Writer – Dee Hup House
A deliciously meta romance about the BL industry itself Lovely Writer (นับสิบจะจูบ) is just a brilliantly conceived series. Gene (Up), a shy novelist, finds his book adapted into a series starring Nubsib (Kao), a charismatic actor who seems suspiciously invested in him off-camera. As filming progresses, performance and reality blur, exposing the pressures, commercialization, and hidden tenderness beneath the genre. Equal parts satire and swoon, it peels back the glossy façade while still delivering a deeply satisfying love story about authenticity in a world built on fantasy.
  1. 2gether – GMMTV
for many, this series was the gateway to the genre and launched a thousand BL playlists. 2gether (เพราะเราคู่กัน) became a global phenomenon. Tine (Win) recruits aloof campus heartthrob Sarawat (Bright) to pretend to be his boyfriend in order to shake off an unwanted admirer, only for their fake relationship to bloom into something disarmingly real. Breezy, funny, and packed with iconic music moments, it captures that dizzy university-age feeling when love arrives like a summer storm… sudden, overwhelming, impossible to ignore.
  1. Vice Versa – GMMTV
While I said “in no particular order” this one still tops my list as my absolute favorite BL Tender, dreamy, and quietly philosophical, Vice Versa (รักสลับโลก) follows two strangers who wake up in an alternate universe inside different bodies and must complete mysterious tasks to return home. As Talay (Sea) and Puen (Jimmy) navigate this borrowed world, they become each other’s anchor, building a love that transcends identity, appearance, even reality itself. It’s a story about finding your person in a universe that feels slightly misaligned… which makes it especially poignant when you’re about to step into a new life of your own.

Like I said, this list is far from complete, but these are the series where my purchased copies were some of the first items packed into my suitcases.

There will be more BL series and reviews soon so…

Stay Tuned!
