I’ve heard a lot from fans of the series that (before episode 5) this was their favorite of the series. It’s just just an entirely different vibe. Hollander and Rozanov are still present, but this widens the world, making it even better.

SYNOPSIS
Set around the events of episode two, Team USA’s golden boy Scott Hunter (François Arnaud) finds himself stuck in a rare goal-scoring drought. On a whim, he ducks into a smoothie shop and orders a drink recommended by an employee named Kip (Robbie G.K.). Harmless enough—except that night, Scott finally scores again.
Superstition quickly takes over. Before every home game, Scott returns to Kip’s shop for the same game-winning blueberry-banana smoothie, lingering a little longer each visit. What starts as casual flirtation slowly blurs into something more: an invitation to a game, then a date, and eventually sex.
By the next morning, riding the high of momentum both on and off the ice, Scott asks Kip to move in with him. Kip says yes.

THOUGHTS
Unlike Rozanov and Holland’s sexual games, Scott and Kip have an honest relationship – even if it is kept in the closet. Switch the art gallery for a museum and I’ve been in Kip’s shoes – literally. It was a heartbreaking moment – but very very real.
Later, I discovered that the first book in the series centers around this relationship. They are one of the main reasons why I’m excited for season two. I want more. I LOVE how chaotic and fun these two are. Also, Elena (Nadine Bhabha) is one of the best girl friends ever.

There will be more Heated Rivalry soon so…
