Adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Team Befar—written by Lee Hoon and illustrated by No Hye-ok—the series began streaming on Netflix on 26 December 2025.

Kang Sang-woong (Lee Jun-ho) is an ordinary man who inherits super strength from his father, only to discover that every time he uses it, it drains the cash he has on him. To make matters worse, an ancient and sinister organization is hunting not only his abilities, but the powers of every enhanced human in Korea.

Over the series’ eight episodes, Sang-woong grows into a hero who no longer relies solely on his powers, but on the strength he draws from his love for family and friends. It’s a thankless role that derails his plans, damages his reputation, and puts him squarely on the radar of the Seoul police—exactly where he least wants to be. Still, whenever he’s faced with a choice, he always steps in to help those who cannot help themselves.

Fortunately, he’s not alone. Byeon Ho-in (Kim Byung-chul) can slip through solid objects as easily as a hand through water—though only when he’s drunk. Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi) possesses telekinesis, but her power is directly tied to the number of calories she consumes. Aside from them and his father, the only person who knows Sang-woong’s secret is his wife, Kim Min-suk (Kim Hye-jun).

Sang-woong faces loan sharks, super-powered psychopaths, and corrupt corporate villains. Yet even when the chips are down and he’s on his last won, he refuses to give up—especially when Min-suk’s safety is at stake. He’s even willing to sacrifice himself if it means protecting her against the series’ main antagonist  Nathan Cho (Lee Chae-Min). Luckily, being a superhero has its perks, and death turns out to be more of a minor inconvenience than a permanent end.

The twists and turns continue right through the final episode, and every one of them feels smartly constructed. In short, CA$HERO is one of the most bingeable K-dramas I’ve seen in a long time.

There will be more K-drama reviews soon so…
