One of the highlights of my trip to Tokyo was stepping into a movie theatre for the first time since the release of Frozen II in 2019 – and it was for an extra special film: Mufasa: The Lion King — which was presented in Japanese.
Despite knowing very little of the language, I absolutely adored it. The animation was stunning, the music transcendent, and the emotion universal. Adding to the excitement was the fact that Travis Japan’s very own Sexy Tiger, Genta Matsuda, voiced Scar—and he was phenomenal. His performance brought a fresh, captivating edge to the character, proving once again why he’s one of the group’s most dynamic talents.
My friend, who generously treated me to the ticket, was a little worried I’d let the jet lag win and doze off mid-movie—especially once Scar’s villain song, 「Brother Betrayed」, began. As if I’d ever let that happen. I stayed wide awake, like any good fan should.

Afterward, we stopped by Family Mart, where I grabbed one of my favorite quick bites—the Teriyaki Chicken Egg Sandwich—before heading back to the hotel for a much-needed, full night’s rest.
The next day brought another unforgettable adventure as I made my way to Yokohama for the opening of Travis Japan’s second tour, VIIsual. Seeing them perform on their home turf was everything I hoped it would be—and more.
Absolutely amazing.
The sight. The sounds. The Fans. It was one of my favorite concert going experiences.
So many fans turned up with so many incredible creations. I also bought so much TJ merch, including a series of trading cards, a baseball cap and the tour pamphlet.
Though with TJ specifically it’s hard to pic a bias. I knew I had to get all the merch dedicated to Umi (after all green is my favourite colour). These included an Uchiwa, a hairclip, and a face cushion.
I also purchased several similar pieces related to Genta and Shime as well as the concert tote to carry everything before the show.
It was just the beginning of my shopping excursion, but to be honest I’ve never had more fun spending money.
There will be more of my 2025 Adventures in Tokyo soon so…
Stay Tuned!
