When I began shaping the world of My Super Fiancé, I found myself looking backward—returning to the stories that first taught me how fantasy, romance, and heroism could coexist.
Again and again, I was drawn back to Sailor Moon.
There’s an undeniable sense of wonder in Naoko Takeuchi’s original artwork and storytelling, and it was impossible not to fall in love with the journey of the crybaby Usagi—and how a ditzy meatball head became the hero of an entire generation by proving that the power of love is, in fact, the greatest power of all.
While many—rightfully—regard the original English-language release from DiC Entertainment as a lesser version compared to its Japanese counterpart, there was one element that left a lasting impression on me: the music.
Especially 「The Power of Love」.
A song about the strength, and enduring power of friendship, I knew it was the perfect song to serve as the love anthem to My Super Fiancé. However, it wasn’t enough (for me) to include a cover. I wanted to include the voice that made the song soar – Jennifer Cihi, and to my absolute delight, she agreed to be a part of the project.

Her return to the studio, nearly thirty years after the song’s original release, was nothing short of moonlight magic. Produced by Jason Garner, this reimagining builds on the sugar-sweet pop of the original, infusing it with a subtle edge of modern rock and a soul.
It’s not a cover, it’s a celebration—honoring the legacy of Sailor Moon while sprinkling a bit of that magic into the world of Prism City.
“Reimagining the iconic 「The Power of Love」 was fabulous, fun, and full of magic!” Jennifer Cihi says proudly of her time in the studio reworking the song. “We had an amazing time in the studio bringing it into a new era for such a cool project, and I truly think fans—both old and new—are going to love it.”
Coming soon. This is only the beginning. In the name of the moon… we will rock you!
