GMMTV is a network of nearly unsinkable ships—EarthMix, TayNew, PondPhuwin… and JoongDunk. Together, they form the pillars of the BL universe, lighting up our screens and keeping fans fed with some of the genre’s most popular—and most beloved—series.
Reuniting on screen for the first time since the 2024 romantic mafia drama The Heart Killers, Archen Aydin (Joong) and Natachai Boonprasert (Dunk) return as leads in GMMTV’s new procedural drama Dare You to Death.

Adapted from the novel of the same name by MTRD.S, the series follows Police Captain Jade (Aydin) and Kamin (Boonprasert), a newly returned inspector fresh from overseas, as the two clash—and compete—while investigating the death of a college student following a night of drinking with friends. Complicating matters further is one of the prime suspects, Jay, played by Thipakorn Thitathan (Ohm), who also happens to be Jade’s younger brother.
What initially appears to be an open-and-shut case quickly turns murkier as the investigation deepens, dragging both men into something far messier—and far more personal—than either expected.
It’s refreshing to see both actors not just playing their age, but leaning into the maturity that comes with it. In The Heart Killers, Boonprasert was fun but, frankly, one of the most irritating characters in the series (even if he eventually redeems himself). Here, he’s given a steadier, more level-headed role—and that balance makes his heated rivalry with Joong all the more entertaining.

Streaming internationally on Netflix, new episodes drop Thursdays and the production quality is surprisingly strong. Yes, there are still some of the familiar, occasionally silly sound effects fans expect from Thai dramas, but even for GMMTV—which is clearly on an upswing after a fairly lackluster year—Dare You to Death feels confident, polished, and well put together.
It’s interesting, and I like that it’s a more serious piece for the duo. I’m excited to see where it goes.
There will be more Dare You To Death soon so…
