The time has come! The unique tigers have finally released their third studio album — and it’s roaring with sound – and that typical TJ humor.

Produced by the Pure Tiger himself, Machu, the album glows with inspiration from one of music’s most transformative sounds — disco. From the aptly titled 「’s travelers – Opening Theme-」, there’s something almost cinematic about the album, which is fitting for a group with such strong ties to the dreamy Hollywood.

It’s a city they openly consider their second home.

In fifteen new tracks, the group gives fans a taste of everything TJ has to offer.

Highlights include the pre-release track 「Disco Baby」 — an irresistibly fun shimmer of sound that also gives the group several stand-out moments to showcase just how hard they’ve been working on their English.

The second release, 「Welcome To Our Show Tonight」, keeps that warm seventies glow alive, lacing with the unique TJ humor fans have come to know and cherish.

While I absolutely know my bias when it comes to the group, this third album really does feature some bonafide bangers — including 「Diamonds」, a track thats lit and fit with just a touch of an edgier that moves the group into a more mature direction. It’s incredible and very fun.

There’s a streak of 90s grunge-pop woven into 「Go Dummy」 — which is easily one of the best tracks on the album, echoing the same vibe that makes 「fireflies」 one of my favorite tracks from their 2024 sophomore album VIIsual.

「Teenage Dream」 sprinkles some Broadway magic over that seventies palette, giving it the kind of theatrical sparkle that even Andrew Lloyd Webber would probably bop his head to.

「Odoranakya Son」 is another wildly comedic gem, playing to one of TJ’s not-so quiet strengths: as serious as they are about their craft, they themselves don’t seem to have a serious bone in their bodies. They live for the life of the music – for the joy and happiness it brings. Their motto is “Just dance together!” but – they want us to smile together too.

In a previous post I mentioned that the album will include three redone tracks originally released earlier this year — 「Say I do」, 「Tokyo Crazy Night」, and 「Would You Like One?」 — updated to include group member Noel (the Brain Tiger), who was on hiatus at the time of their initial release.

While I liked the original versions, these complete versions just feel right. Whole.

There are four different versions of the album, and while all include the same original 15 tracks, each offers its own unique flavor of sound. The Regular CD-Only Edition includes three additional tracks, including two remixes — 「Disco Baby -ケンモチヒデフミ Remix-」 — and an acoustic version of 「Okie Dokie」.

I remember hearing that acoustic version for the first time at their Anaheim show this summer. I believe my exact words were that it deserved a studio release — yesterday. Well, that day has finally come, and it was absolutely worth the wait.

The CD only release also includes an additional track that features the guys discussing their time-travel journey.

The Limited T Edition includes a video disc (Blu-ray or DVD) featuring the music video for 「Disco Baby」, while the Limited J Edition includes the music video for 「Welcome To Our Show Tonight」, behind-the-scenes footage, and the spirited Heart-Pounding Championship in LA.The Family Club version not only includes three new unit tracks, but also several live performance videos from the group’s stop in New York for the VIIsual world tour.

Each first-edition press also comes with physical goods unique to the release.

The only difference with this album is that — unlike their predecessors —  there has been no strictly English-language version announced yet. So, at this time, fans are unsure if there will be one. Will I be sad if there isn’t an English only release? A little, I love discovering the little easter eggs of how different they are – yes I’m talking about 「BO$$Y」, but honestly this album doesn’t need it. It’s perfect just the way it is.

Again, I know I’m biased when it comes to this group. But I can’t help it, their music really is magic.

There will be more Travis Japan soon so…

Stay Tuned!
