Today’s the day — the moment I’ve been working toward for almost a year and a half has finally arrived: the release of my second novel with Digital Fabulists, My Super Fiancé.

The second book in the My Supernatural Romance series, it’s set in the same universe as My Dead Boyfriend (2024). The connection runs deeper than shared mythos: Trevor Prince — one half of this book’s central love story — is cousins with Max Benton — one half of the couple in MDBF. Which is my gentle way of saying: yes, the crossover potential is very real – an in all honesty, inevitable.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.

My Super Fiancé is a story that’s been simmering in the back of my imagination for a long, long time — and bringing it to life has been both a challenge and a gift. From the earliest notes, I knew I wanted this project to carry a transmedia spark, to reach beyond the page. So I shaped it with the cadence of the K-dramas and Thai BL that have filled my last five years with color and comfort.

One of those most important pieces of that puzzle was to give the book its own OST (original soundtrack) — something I’ve been wanting to do since I was in high school.

To build that soundtrack, I reached out to artists who have inspired me. Brendan Velasquez — a queer singer whose music lived in Logo’s top ten for seven months and who lent his voice to my 2020 album StarStealer.

Mek Jirakit — a Thai idol who has starred in some of my favorite series, Dark Blue Kiss and Star & Sky (just to name a few). His contribution to the soundtrack, is 「รักว้าวุ่น (English title: 「Love chaos).

Jennifer Cihi — whose voice brought love and harmony to the first English dub of Sailor Moon back in 1995. Also one of my closest friends, A’me Lorain — whose 1990 single Follow My Heartbeat once genuinely saved my life — will appear.

The OST also includes my first original song in almost six years. It’s called 「Pegasus, and was written by one of my dearest friends, and its release is a story in and of itself.

While I’m still firming up a few truly outrageous additions to the pop side of the soundtrack, the project also carries an original — and fully exclusive — score, which I am proud to say I had a small role in crafting.

The world of the series is also shaped by the stunning art of the incredibly talented UmiRage. I’ll admit it — I’m not the easiest person when it comes to visualizing my characters. I carry such specific images of them — and the textures of the world they live in. Yet somehow, almost every time, Umi manages to lift those images straight out of my mind and onto the canvas. His gift is irreplaceable, and I’m endlessly grateful for it.

There are more conversations happening, too — centered around other media tie-ins, new ways for this universe to unfold and glow. So much work has gone into this project that it still feels a bit surreal… and also incredibly joyful.

And the beautiful part?

We’re only at the beginning.
