I’m going to be honest, until now, Twisted Wonderland has existed only in perfifere. I’m not really a gamer, mobile or otherwise. So it wasn’t something I really got into- despite it ticking literally every single box of things I’m interested in.
However, when the anime was announced, I made sure to put it on my radar. I’ve seen both episodes that have been released so far, and while I liked them, it’s the soundtrack that has really taken me by surprise.

Released through Walt Disney Records, the 18 track OST features two pop tracks and 16 original score pieces from composer Takumi Ozawa.
This Vol. 1 album gathers the musical themes underpinning the first arc of the series, the “Episode of Heartslabyul” story-arc, and is now available via streaming and download platforms including Amazon, Spotify, and my Qobuz.
While I’m not familiar with Ozawa’s previous work, this soundtrack shows a true gift for weaving orchestral gravitas with a hint of mischievous magic — an ideal fit for this twisted‑wonderland that gives a new spin on classic Disney when, a normal high-schooler is unexpectedly pulled into a surreal, villain-inspired academy and must navigate monsters, strange students, and magical mysterious
While the album is primarily atmospheric (it naturally leans instrumental and tied to screen cues rather than standalone songs), fans of the anime or original game will recognise familiar motifs and relish the fidelity of adaptation. For newcomers it functions as a mood-piece: elegant, evocative, and rich with suggestion of the world’s duality (light magic & dark legacy).
I’m looking forward to volume 2.
There will be more music reviews soon so…
