One of the many, many things I love about SixTONES is their ability to put on one hell of a show. My biggest problem when I’m watching them is figuring out where to look.
Jesse is chaotic sex appeal wrapped in one of the most beautiful packages on the planet. Taiga begs the question: “Who knew so much talent and charisma could fit into someone so compact?” Hokuto—have you seen his anan photoshoots? Yugo is too cute for a voice that deep and sensual. As my bias, Shintaro is just a dream. Always. And Juri? Man, I love this guy. His energy. His sense of humor. His undeniable sex appeal…
The point is, SixTONES are the reason I get most excited for concert home releases. I don’t have to worry about where to look—the camera does it for me.

I left my last trip to Japan mere days before SixTONES debuted their YOUNGOLD tour—but not before I managed to grab their fifth studio album, GOLD, which (if I’m being completely honest) is their best to date. And yes, I always say SixTONES have outdone themselves—because they always do—but this album truly is something special.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it start to finish. There’s not a single skippable track.
The same goes for the concert.
Opening with 「Golden」, the stage was literally set for a kickass show—complete with a golden cobra throne that transforms into the bow of the most pimped-out pirate ship I’ve ever seen.
Highlights? 「PUNK STAR」 — because the only thing sexier than Jesse singing “I don’t give a shit” is watching him sing it.
「こっから」 (which translates to “From Now On”) feels tailor-made for live performance—a perfect crowd-starter, and the guys absolutely deliver.
「Underline」 is pure fun. And nothing screams “Jesse” like a black NY baseball cap with cat ears.
「STRAWBERRY BREAKFAST」 remains one of my forever favorites—utterly unskippable no matter when or where it plays.
I loved the live versions of both 「THE BALLERS」 and 「Cat Call」—the latter being one of the group’s silliest yet most addictive tracks.
And of course, my personal favorite, 「恋のバタリアン」 (「Love Battalion」), completely stole the show. I just love how this song seamlessly moves through nearly every musical genre—it’s an absolute masterclass in versatility. Perfect for SixTONES.
As a part of the encore, 「Fiesta」 was one of many comic-relief moments, but watching Taiga put his spin his own style and flare into the flamenco was next level. Especially when he finally convinced Juri to join him
I’ve said it before and I will undoubtedly say it again – nobody can top the breadth of SixTONES vocality. They’ve been cut, polished, and refined into one of the most stunning acts in J-pop today.
So yes, the concert was fantastic, but one of the things I am most excited for with this release is that not only did the Limited Edition blu-ray include a ton of video extras – it also came with the entire concert on 2 CDs!
With the release of their first BEST OF album 「MileSixtones」available early next year there will be more SixTONES soon so…
Stay Tuned!
