This weekend, everyone’s favorite ghoulish girlie returned to Nevermore Academy for season two. While it didn’t hook me instantly the way season one did, it was still a wickedly enjoyable ride.

Jenna Ortega remains a delight as the deadpan death-lover herself, especially in episode six where her sharp comedic timing shines. Emma Myers continues to enchant as bright and bubbly Enid, and Evie Templeton is equally charming as the adorably obsessive Agnes. Their arc from enemies to friends was one of the season’s highlights, and I can’t wait to see how Wednesday Addams handles having not one, but two fiercely loyal companions.
Isaac Ordonez’s expanded role as Pugsley was fun to watch, and Hunter Doohan once again made it impossible not to root for his irresistible bad-boy energy—the kind you just want you could fix. I mean. I know I could.

As for the adults, Billie Piper and Catherine Zeta-Jones were fantastic as always, but the real showstopper? Gwendoline Christie. Clawesome and fabulously fierce, her return as Larissa Weems was hands down the best part of the season.

Season three has a lot of promise, and I only hope we don’t have to wait another two years to find out where these characters go next.
More television reviews are on the way, so…
