I wasn’t planning to keep up with REVAMP: The Undead Story, but after seeing this week’s teasers featuring Barcode, I couldn’t resist.

While the production values may not quite reach Be On Cloud’s standard, GMMTV still holds the crown when it comes to delivering compelling BL stories, and episode two was a definite step up from the premiere.

The vampires finally felt like vampires—especially Barcode. He’s come a long way from the wide-eyed, helpless Chay in KinnPorsche, and I’m really enjoying the mischievous, bat-boy persona he’s bringing to Ciar.

There are still some technical hiccups—most notably with the sound design, where a few lines of dubbing felt off—but the action sequences were surprisingly solid. Overall, the episode leaned into campy fun without taking itself too seriously, and the result was a lot more enjoyable than I expected.

Especially the fight scene.

I’m still on the fence if I want this to be a weekly watch or one I Binge after it’s completed, but I’m glad I at least gave it another episode before I wrote it off entirely.
