GMMTV will always hold a special place in my heart. They were my very first introduction to the wonderful world of Boys’ Love, and over the years they’ve proven themselves a company that consistently delivers beautiful, heartfelt storytelling.

Tale of a Thousand Stars, Fish Upon the Sky, Not Me, Dark Blue Kiss, Bad Buddy—the list of iconic series they’ve given us is long, and many of them are my comfort rewatches whenever I need something warm, emotional, and uplifting.

Unfortunately, after my first watch, I don’t think REVAMP will join that list. This marks the first reunion of Noppanut Guntachai (Boun) and Warut Chawalitrujiwong (Prem) since their move from Studio Wabi Sabi to GMMTV, once again under the direction of Siwaj Sawatmaneeku (New), who helmed Until We Meet Again and Between Us.

From the trailers, REVAMP promised a dark, intriguing vampire drama—especially following Boun’s earlier vampire role in Golden Blood. What aired, however, feels more like a lighthearted comedy. Boun plays Ramil, a vampire cursed into a painting, while Prem is Punn, the art restorer who brings him back. As always, the pair are adorable and endearing, with strong support from Jiruntanin Trairattanayon (Mark) as Methas, Ramil’s loyal assistant, and Tinnasit Isarapongporn (Barcode) as Ciar, who unfortunately only appears toward the end.

I’ve misjudged series before, so maybe I’ll revisit REVAMP once it’s complete—but for now, it won’t be my go-to rewatch. With so many strong titles airing right now, like GMMTV’s My Magic Prophecy, it’s hard not to prioritize the ones that truly capture that same spark I’ve come to expect.

There will be more BL reviews soon so…
