Naniwa Danshi just cranked the temperature way up with the release of their 9th single 「Black Nightmare」—the first track from their fourth double A-side single 「ASYMMETRY (アシンメトリー) / Black Nightmare」—and trust me, it’s a sexy steamy, fever dream you won’t want to wake up from.

Built around hypnotic rhythms, provocative lyrics, and an irresistibly addictive melody, 「Black Nightmare」 marks a sleek and sultry evolution in the group’s ever-maturing J-pop sound. It’s smoother. It’s stronger, and yes, it’s undeniably sexier.
The track also doubles as the theme for the supernatural KANSAI TV drama ロンダリング (LAUNDERING), featuring Naniwa Danshi’s comedic charmer Joichiro Fujiwara in the lead role.
Fujiwara steps into the role of Hiyama Eisuke, an aspiring actor who left Osaka behind in pursuit of stardom in Tokyo—but instead of landing the spotlight, he’s been stuck with bit parts and scraping by, barely making rent.
To make matters worse, he’s saddled with a completely useless ‘gift’: the ability to hear the voices of spirits who died untimely deaths. He’s not psychic—he can’t see them, can’t speak to them, and definitely can’t help them move on. All he gets is their nonstop, disembodied chatter, like a broken radio stuck between stations, playing a soundtrack of the dead he never asked for.
A hysterical concept, the song fits perfectly with the 10 episode 30 minute drama.
The physical CD for 「ASYMMETRY (アシンメトリー) / Black Nightmare」 drops September 3rd across four dazzling formats, each packed with exclusive songs and behind-the-scenes video content. So go ahead—collect them all. You can pre-order all versions anywhere Japanese music movies are sold, including CD JAPAN.
There will be more Naniwa Danshi soon so…
