The premiere of GMMTV’s My Magic Prophecy (ทำนายทายทัพ) was cute, sweet, and utterly enchanting—basically everything you’d expect from a GMMTV series starring the equally cute, sweet, and utterly enchanting duo of Jimmy (Jitaraphol Potiwihok) and Sea (Tawinan Anukoolprasert).

A carefully measured blend of mystery, magic, and the kind of slow-burning romantic tension that’s made GMMTV the reigning king of light-hearted BL drama, My Magic Prophecy marks Jimmy and Sea’s first on-screen reunion since 2023’s poignant romantic drama Last Twilight. Since then, Jimmy’s been off furthering his studies in Switzerland (as you do when you’re effortlessly charming and talented), while Sea has been keeping busy lighting up screens in smash hits like Perfect 10 Liners and The Trainee.
In this latest story, Sea’s character, In, is a recent college grad with a gentle heart and a quiet strength. Orphaned and living alone, he works as a gifted fortuneteller—soft-spoken but undeniably attuned to the unseen. Fate puts him on a collision course (almost literally) with Thap, a skeptical ICU doctor played by Jimmy, who doesn’t put much stock in destiny, horoscopes, or anything remotely mystical. That is, until In warns him of an impending misfortune… and those warnings start to come true.
When In suddenly has a vision of Thap being hit by a truck, he doesn’t hesitate—he dives into action, prophecy or not. It’s a classic setup with a magical twist, and thanks to the natural chemistry between Jimmy and Sea, it already feels like something special.
Based on the novel The Cards Tell Me It’s You (ทำนายทายทัพ) by Dawin (ดวินทร์), the series has that familiar Vice Versa-esque energy—dreamy, wistful, and just the right amount of fate-driven fluff. And honestly? I’m already all in.
Airing on GMM 25 in Thailand, the series is available for international viewing on the official GMMTV YouTube every Sunday
There will be more BL reviews soon so…
