COWBOY BEBOP has a special place in my heart. It brings back memories of lazy college weekends with my best friend—beer, pizza, and anime marathons sprawled across the couch. We may not have had a lot of money, but we had a lot of fun, and that was more than enough. Even now, whenever I’m feeling nostalgic or need an instant pick-me-up, I throw on a few episodes and suddenly I’m back in that apartment, snort-laughing at the story and vibing to Yoko Kanno’s legendary score.

But let’s be honest: there was just something insanely sexy about Spike Spiegel. That lean frame, the tousled hair, the smirk that said “trouble”—the cigarette-dangling, kung-fu-kicking, jazz-loving space cowboy just had that effortlessly dangerous charm. Cool to the point of arrogance, there was just enough heartbreak beneath the surface to make you ache for him. He’s the sexiest space cowboy alive and is still an icon of the genre.

Now, thanks to the brilliant minds at Mondo, Spike is stepping off the screen and onto our shelves with a stunning 1/8-scale figure that feels like a direct love letter to the fans of this incredible series.

“We were honored for the opportunity to work directly with the studio to create a screen-accurate, articulated Spike with on-model accessories from our favorite episodes,” Mondo says on their website. “We made sure to include as many as we could… from Ein’s first appearance (‘Stray Dog Strut’) and Spike’s run-in with Zeros (‘Heavy Metal Queen’), to his gear from ‘Toys in the Attic’ and his final deadly duel with Vicious (‘The Real Folk Blues (Part 2)’).”

As always, Mondo’s attention to detail is superb. From episode-specific props to sculpted emotion, it’s a standout collectible for any fan. Limited to just 1,000 units, the figure is a phenomenal blend of design, storytelling, and fandom-powered passion. Artists on the project include Alex Brewer for the concept design and sculpt (with Tommy Hodges) with Hilary Arce with Mark Bristow doing the painting. Jordan Christianson was in charge of the packaging design with Hector Arce in charge of the art direction.

COWBOY BEBOP is an all-time favorite for me and the entire team at Mondo,” says Hector Arce, Senior Creative Director. “When we had the opportunity to create an articulated Spike figure, we knew it had to be a true love letter to the series. We’re huge fans… I still remember staying up late at night, jamming out to that incredible intro and falling in love with all the characters. Spike is easily one of the coolest fictional characters ever, and we hope our passion for both him and the anime shines through in all the details—from the Easter egg accessories to the swappable portraits and subtle nods to the show.”

Expected to ship in December 2025, the base price for the figure is $140, but Spike’s got one last bounty on his head: a Tariff Surcharge for U.S. customers. You can practically hear him groan. Still, it’s not Mondo’s fault—just another cosmic joke courtesy of the universe (and current trade policy). It’s just bureaucracy, baby. The real final boss of any bounty. The product includes:
