With each passing week, Memoir of Rati continues to prove it’s not just one of GMMTV’s most visually stunning productions—but also one of its most emotionally resonant.
Episode 3 dives deeper into the already complicated bond between Ratti and Thee, tightening the knots of class, tradition, and expectation that have never played fair. Their relationship remains a delicate dance between restraint and passion—where every look lingers a little too long and every silence says just enough.
Visually, the series is breathtaking. From the intricately embroidered costumes to the candlelit shadows of Siam’s aristocratic halls, Memoir of Rati is a period piece that truly feels like a painting come to life. But it’s the performances that elevate it: Inn Sarin (Rati) and Great Sapol (Thee) continue to deliver with aching sincerity, grounding the beauty in raw, believable emotion.

Supporting cast members Aou Thanaboon (Mek) and Boom Tharatorn (Dech) are equally fantastic—bringing charm, heart, and much-needed comic relief. And seeing Tarika Thidathit (Koi) in full ballbuster mode is a delightful surprise for fans who remember her as the warm-hearted Ahn from 2019’s Until We Meet Again. She’s fierce, fabulous, and totally unforgettable.

Still, even the most beautiful series can’t completely escape the gravitational pull of classic BL tropes. Ratti’s reaction to discovering Thee isn’t the humble commoner he first appeared to be is… a little much. Yes, some deception was involved—but Thee did try to tell him the truth. It’s Ratti who made the assumptions. (And we all know what happens when you assume.) So when the drama explodes, it’s hard not to wish both of them would just talk it out over tea—or at least a very emotionally-charged stare under a full moon.
That said, Thee’s emotional spiral when he thinks Ratti is about to leave Siam is kind of adorable. Over-the-top? A little. But forgivable—especially since we got to hear Great Sapol speak English (unexpected and delightful).
And then there’s the warm washcloth scene. You know the one. Thee finds Ratti shirtless, taking a nap on the docks, and gently rubs a steaming cloth over his chest like it’s the cure to heartbreak, sunstroke, and class conflict all in one. Honestly? I’m not mad. That magical little towel is quickly becoming a BL staple—and I, for one, welcome it.
