Kento Nakajima isn’t just one of the coolest artists in J-POP—he might just be one of the coolest acts in music, period. A shapeshifter in the purest sense, he’s a gifted vocalist who can slip between genres like it’s second nature. Every time he steps to the mic, in front of the camera or even on stage he becomes someone new.
With the release of his first official single 「MONTAGE」, he proves just how effortlessly he can command any moment.
Dark, dramatic, and dripping with atmosphere, the single opens with the title track – a sweeping orchestral that pulls you straight into a noir-tinged mystery. Bold and cinematic, that makes perfect sense that it’s the theme for the anime The Dinner Table Detective.
It’s perfect, and it’s only the beginning.
The special edition of 「MONTAGE」 includes four additional tracks and each one is an integral thread to the tapestry of sound Nakajima is weaving for himself as an artist.
「碧暦」
Loosely translated as 「EverBlue」, this one wraps you in vaporwave shimmer and a glowing, melancholic warmth. Kento’s voice is like moonlight here—soft, distant, and aching in all the right ways. It’s a slow-burning anthem for anyone who’s ever had to navigate heartbreak, silence, or just the quiet strength it takes to keep going.
「JUST KENTY☆」
This is pure serotonin. Sweet, bubbly, and absolutely irresistible, this love song is classic Kenty: charming, catchy, and impossible not to smile through. It’s playful pop done right—and honestly, one of my all-time favorites from him.
「SUPERNOVA」
High-energy, polished, and totally infectious—this is the kind of song that only Kento could pull off so seamlessly. It’s got the bounce, the shine, and the kind of chorus that stays stuck in your head for days. A quintessential Kenty track and easily one of his best pop releases to date.
「JASMINE TEA」
Simple. Elegant. Heartfelt. This ballad is like a soft exhale at the end of a long day. Kento strips everything back to the basics and lets his voice carry the weight—and it works. Emotional, honest, and quietly stunning.
With 「MONTAGE」, Nakajima reminds us that he’s not just an idol—he’s an artist and he’s creating something beautiful. There’s more to come so…
