As someone whose life was forever changed by the Walt Disney Company, I can’t help but get emotional whenever I see the magic in motion. In 2004, I was a shy and uncertain college student when I joined the Walt Disney World College Program in Orlando, Florida. I thought I was just signing up for a job—but what I found was something far more powerful. Disney didn’t just offer me work experience; it gave me confidence, reawakened my sense of wonder, and reminded me that magic is never far away—it’s just a wishing star away.
That’s why moments like this still hit me straight in the heart. During the MC segment of the King & Prince 24-25 ~Re:ERA~ dome tour’s opening concert, Kaito Takahashi and Ren Nagase made a surprise announcement—via a playful “call” from none other than their best friend, Mickey Mouse (yes, really Mickey Mouse!)—revealing they’ll be releasing a brand-new official Disney song in honor of the iconic character himself.
Titled “What We Got 〜奇跡はきみと〜” (“What We Got 〜The Miracle Is With You〜”), the song is a reimagining of “What We Got (Mickey’s Birthday Song)” from 2016. It’s a celebration of chance encounters, the beauty of unexpected friendships, and the magic that can blossom in a single moment—something I know firsthand. This new version, featuring fresh arrangements and Japanese lyrics translated by Kaito and Ren themselves, breathes new life into a tune already sparkling with Disney charm.

Part of Disney’s global “Mickey & Friends: In Real Life” campaign, the song also kicks off the countdown to Mickey Mouse’s 100th on-screen anniversary in 2028. Even more special, it marks the very first official Mickey song produced in collaboration with Japanese artists.
Mickey has been there since my childhood, always by my side, a presence that accompanies me.” Nagase stated “This collaboration is one of the happiest events in my life. Also, “What We Got 〜奇跡はきみと〜” is a song that I hope not only our fans but also Disney fans will enjoy, but most of all, we had a lot of fun making it! During the creation process, we made many suggestions and contributions, and discussed every detail of the song so that it could be even more appealing. I’m sure the result is this is it!, and I would be very happy if you look forward to it.”
“The collaboration with Mickey was really a dream.” Kaito added “Since I was a kid, I learned English with Mickey, I visited him at Disneyland and he was always a close presence and at the same time, like a dream. I always thought that I wanted to create something together with him. Being able to sing a theme song as best friends has made my dream come true in the best way, and will probably become a lifelong treasure for us. I think the song “What We Got ~奇跡はきみと~” belongs to everyone, so enjoy the lyrics and music to the fullest! I hope we can all support it together and make this song shine!”
Disney’s American headquarters has already praised the track as “a song that can make everyone smile,” adding, “This song will undoubtedly be a Disney song that will light up until the end of the world.”
And honestly? I believe them. Because when it comes to King & Prince, Disney—and of course, Mickey Mouse—smiles, light, and miracles never go out of style.
There will be more King & Prince and Mickey too soon so…
Stay Tuned!
