I’ve been counting down the days for The Next Prince to premiere, as a fan of ZeeNuNew since the epically cute Cutie Pie, I knew their chemistry would be electric. But this first episode somehow exceeded even my highest expectations. It was everything I wanted it to be.
From its opening moments, The Next Prince establishes itself as a visually rich, emotionally resonant Boys’ Love drama with royal stakes and tender heartbeats. The story introduces us to Kanin, the crown prince of the fictional kingdom of Emmaly, whose life is upended by political pressure and family secrets. Assigned to protect him is Charan, a loyal and stoic royal guard whose destiny seems forever tied to Kanin’s.
The setup feels like a mix of fairytale and political intrigue, with a clear emphasis on emotional stakes over rushed exposition. We get just enough mystery to keep us curious—while building a foundation for what promises to be a deeply emotional series.

Leads Zee Pruk and Nunew Chawarin shine in their roles. Their on-screen chemistry is (as expected) FIRE. Every glance, every moment of silence between them feels loaded with subtext. Nunew’s soft vulnerability and Zee’s quiet strength complement each other beautifully, anchoring the show with authenticity and charm.
The production value is top-tier. From the costume design to the sweeping cinematography, everything feels grand yet intimate. Palace halls, moonlit courtyards, and dramatic slow-motion shots enhance the story’s regal atmosphere without feeling overproduced. The direction leans cinematic, but still knows how to zoom in on the smallest, most human moments.
Episode 1 of The Next Prince is a strong debut—elegant, heartfelt, and full of promise. With a cast that delivers both heat and heart, and a storyline that blends fantasy royalty with real emotional consequences, the series is poised to be one of the standout BL dramas of the year.
I can’t wait to see where it goes!
