Let’s be real—Korean comedy BLs are still something of a rare species. Not extinct, thankfully, but definitely not popping up every week. So when one does appear—and leans into full-blown absurdity rather than just breezy rom-com fluff? I’m already buckled in.
Think Choco Milk Shake levels of “Did that seriously just happen?” And yes, FC Soldout serves that exact brand of chaotic, charming nonsense.
This show doesn’t try to be grounded. There’s drama, technically—but it’s light as a feather. Any tension that pops up gets handled faster than you can say “emotional stakes,” and honestly, that’s a blessing. The show knows it doesn’t need to explain everything away or make perfect sense. It skips the overthinking and goes straight for what we’re all really here for: the romance. The fluff. The kisses. The feels.
And oh, does it deliver.

The first couple, Do Ji U (Park Jong Hun) and Yoo Gang Jae (Ko Deok Won), are an absolute riot. Their love story unfolds at a glacial pace, but that’s half the charm. Their comedic timing, awkward tension, and general chaos fuel most of the show’s laughs—and they wear it well.
Then there’s the second pair, Seo Byuk Joon and An Hyo Sang (both actors using their real names, which is so K-drama meta), and they come in hot. They don’t get nearly as much screen time, but every moment they’re on is emotionally charged, romantically significant, and just… chef’s kiss. It’s no wonder fans are a little more obsessed with them.
Now, about the rest of the team—there’s a lot of them. Like, a lot. More than necessary, if we’re being honest. You could easily shave the cast list down to five or six and still tell the same story. But considering we got a couple gratuitous shirtless scenes out of it? No real complaints.
The ending? It’s… fine. Not groundbreaking. Not overly satisfying. But the romance lands, and the vibes stay strong—which is exactly what I’m looking for in a BL.
Korean BL is still finding its rhythm, but every new entry proves it’s got something special. They’re bold, fun, and endlessly watchable. If this is the direction we’re heading, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
There will be more BL Reviews soon so…
