From the moment I heard Travis Japan was releasing their first physical single, I was beyond excited! Not only were we getting two main tracks, but the coupling songs had me just as hyped. Since the early days of vinyl records, B-sides have been a hidden treasure for music lovers—often featuring experimental tracks, fan favorites, or songs that didn’t fit the main album but still carried their own magic. By the 1980s, they had become a beloved way for fans to collect exclusive music, and some of the most iconic songs in history started as B-sides. So naturally, I couldn’t wait to see what surprises Travis Japan had in store. And, of course, the unique tigers did not disappoint!

｢Say I Do｣ is a romance-coated confection of pure cuteness. It radiates the same sweet, infectious charm as ｢Candy Kiss｣ but with a more mature, polished edge. 

｢Tokyo Crazy Night｣ takes things in an entirely different direction, capturing the electric energy of the city after dark. Sleek, sexy, and undeniably addictive, it’s a full-throttle dance anthem that commands attention. 

｢Be Your Shadow｣, a T-edition exclusive, builds on the sensuality of ｢Tokyo Crazy Night｣ while keeping the momentum high. The guys’ upper registers add a smooth, almost honeyed sweetness to the track, making it effortlessly captivating. 

This edition also includes the music video and behind-the-scenes making of ｢Say I Do｣, as well as the TV Asahi Dream Festival 2024 – Live Performance.

｢My Own Night｣, exclusive to the J edition, slows things down, trading club-ready beats for a cozy, laid-back groove. It’s less about high-energy moves and more about kicking back, unwinding, and letting the night unfold at its own pace.

This edition also includes the music video and behind-the-scenes making of ｢Tokyo Crazy Night｣, as well as Close-up! TJ’s Private Quiz! We visited the members during their off-duty time.

The following two tracks are included only on the Regular Edition. 

｢Backup Plan｣ is another electrifying dance anthem, but this time, it leans into the deep, velvety tones of the guys’ lower registers. The result? A track that’s both sensual and irresistibly fun—perfect for turning up the volume and getting lost in the rhythm. 

｢O-Shan-Tee｣ is TJ at his most exuberant, delivering a high-energy sugar rush like only he can. With its playful 8-bit sound and insanely catchy melody, this track feels tailor-made for an unforgettable live performance.

As much as I love the instant gratification of their digital releases—both A-sides were available online worldwide on drop day—there’s just something special about owning the physical version. It’s not just about the extra songs (though those are always a treat); it’s the thrill of unboxing all the bonus goodies that come with a STARTO group release. For this single, that meant a B4-sized clear poster (Limited T Edition), a B5-sized clear folder (Limited J Edition), and three clear cards (Regular Edition). And if that wasn’t enough, the Universal Music Store exclusive edition also included an A6-sized photocard—a collector’s dream!
