SixTONES – The bad boys of J-POP – have announced that their newest single 「Barrier」 will also be the theme song to the upcoming theatrical A Girl & Her Guard Dog ( お嬢と番犬くん) starring group member Jesse.
Based on the manga of the same name, the story follows Saku Senagaki (Riko Fukumoto, Trillion Game) has been feared by those around her because her grandfather Tasuke is the third Senagaki yakuza boss. She gives up on her unrequited crush on Keiya Utō and enrolls in high school to have a normal love life, but Keiya fakes his age and enrolls in the same school.

“I think the theme song 「Barrier」 is a perfect song for A Girl & Her Guard Dog, which is a little different from an ordinary love story.”Jesse said of the song. “The chorus includes the phrase “I won’t let you touch me,” and the lyrics are written from Keiya’s point of view, but the melody line of the song is also sprinkled with SixTONES-esque elements, and right up until the very end of the movie, “Oh!” I think it’s a very well-balanced and cool song that fits into the worldview of “Jou to Watchdog-kun”!
“In the movie, Keiya dotes on Issaki to the point of being overprotective,” he continues. “I think it’s wonderful for him to act like Keiya to protect something important, so I finished watching the movie. People, please properly “barrier” your loved ones!”
