The Broadway musical Beetlejuice created a sensation when it debuted in Japan during the summer of 2023. With Jesse from SixTONES delivering a standout performance in the lead role and the talented Yuichi Fukuda at the helm as director, anticipation soared long before opening night. The production closed to critical acclaim, leaving audiences so captivated that they eagerly demanded an encore.
Now, their wishes have been granted—Beetlejuice is back!
“Beetlejuice is coming back!” he exclaimed with excitement in an official statement (loosely translated from Japanese). “Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! To everyone who wants to laugh until your sides ache, build abs from laughter, or simply escape and have a blast—this is for you! Right side, left side, both sides—no matter who you are, come and join us! We’re ready to give it our all and make you feel like you’re part of the ultimate attraction!
Based on the 1988 film of the same name, directed by Tim Burton – the stage produced is set to run between Tokyo and Osaka, from May to June 2025.
