I’ve come to the realization that I could watch SixTONES read the phonebook* and still be entertained. They’ve just got that magic spark that makes it impossible for you to take your eyes off them.

As the lead track to GOLD, the group’s fifth studio album, 「THE BALLERS」 is catchy and fun, seamlessly weaving together pop, rock, dance, and even elements of funk in a way that only SixTONES can.

The music video—shot mostly on a basketball court—not only plays off the group’s reputation as the bad boys of J-POP but amplifies it – with the guys on the court, showing off their moves with their unique brand of swagger and sex appeal.

The seamless editing, mixed with the guys’ flawless dance ability, makes for some great transitions, and the video as a whole is just a lot of fun.

What sets SixTONES apart is their relentless pursuit of excellence. Every song, album, and video surpasses the last, demonstrating their dedication to artistic growth. Starting strong, they continue to raise the bar, pushing boundaries with each release. But that’s why SixTONES are where they are. They don’t rest on their laurels. They strive for something better.

There will be more SixTONES soon so… Stay Tuned!

*for my younger readers, a phone book was a directory of every phone number of every person or business in your town or county.
