Travis Japan has never been a group to shy away from change. It’s one of the hallmarks that have made them so fascinating to watch.
Now, with the release of their sophomore album, 「VIIsual」, Travis Japan is ready to shatter expectations. These aren’t just cookie-cutter idols—they’re men on a mission, determined to redefine what it means to be global artists.

As STARTO ENTERTAINMENT’s flagship group in their company’s digital revolution, a handful of tracks from 「VIIsual」 have already been released. These tracks include:
「T.G.I. Friday Night」
This is one of my favorite tracks from Travis Japan—not just because it’s an instant mood booster, but because of the powerful statement it makes. Released just weeks before Japanese Pride, the music video captures a group ready to celebrate, with vibrant energy and a clear message of inclusivity. Featuring a rainbow flag and ribbons in the colors of the trans pride flag, Travis Japan boldly shows that their motto, Just Dance Together, truly means everyone is invited to the party.
「Sweetest Tune」
An insert song for the steamy drama Tokyo Tower, which starred group member Genta “G” Matsuda, marked a pivotal moment for Travis Japan. Seamlessly blending their signature boy-next-door charm with a newfound sensual sophistication, the track set the stage for the group’s artistic evolution, signaling a bold and mature direction in their music and image.
「Fly Higher」
Featured as the closing theme for the second season of Tasuketsu: Fate of the Majority, this inspiring track delivers a heartfelt message about chasing dreams and holding onto hope, even when faced with adversity. The anime also features group member Noel in his voice-acting debut, as Kai, one of this season’s key antagonists.
「Crazy Crazy」, a pre-release track, stands out as another personal favorite. Its irresistibly catchy 80s/90s-inspired pop-rock vibe radiates nostalgic energy. The music video takes it further, paying loving homage to iconic teen films of the past, brimming with youthful playfulness—a nod to classic storytelling. This sets the tone for an album that, much like the group itself, is overflowing with personality.
「Bo$$y」, As the the album’s official lead single, stands out as one of Travis Japan’s finest! Elevated by a spectacular vocal performance by Machu. With its electrifying fusion of pop and rock, the song exudes an irresistible sort of sex appeal. The music video takes the energy even further, continuing off the playful vibes set by 「Crazy, Crazy」. It’s a perfect blend of confidence, charisma, and cartoonishly cute fun!
Machu also shines as the writer of 「Whisky and Tonic」, a fun and romantic track about the feeling of being drunk in love. It’s not the first song he’s written for the group, and it’s wonderful to see his growth as a writer—something group member Umi Nakamura, who produced the album, agrees with. “I’m very proud of him,” he said in a previous statement.
While ballads may not be what Travis Japan is known for, 「Staying with You」 stands out as a tender love song that blends elements of pop and country. Featured as an insert song in the film Yano Kun no Normal Days, which stars group member Kaito “Umi” Nakamura, the track beautifully showcases a softer, more emotive side of the group.
Nakamura not only showcased his acting range in the film but also proved his versatility with a standout role in the television drama The Flawless Revenge of the Flawless Wife. His work as a producer on the album also highlighted his creative influence and multifaceted talent.
“It was a new challenge for me,” he stated honestly. “So I collaborated with experienced professionals to bring our vision to life. This album is a reflection of who we are, where we’ve come from and what we see for ourselves in the future.”
The title 「VIIsual」 also holds special meaning. “The Roman numeral VII represents the seven members of Travis Japan,” Nakamura continues. “But it’s more than just a number. Each one of us brings a unique perspective and insight to the group, and we’re only at our best when all seven voices are heard.”
