With the color symphony of their debut single 初心LOVE a bona fide hit and My Love Mix-Up! an international success, Naniwa Danshi readied themselves for their sophomore release.

The Answer / Sachiare (サチアレ) was released on April 27, 2022, as the group’s first double A-side single and the theme to the Shunsuke Michieda’s second staring drama (since the group’s debut) The Case Files of Young Kindaichi (金田一少年の事件簿 5).

🕵 A TWIST OF MYSTERY🧐

The fifth adaptation of the hugely popular manga series of the same name, The Files of Young Kindaichi features Michieda as Hajime Kindaichi, the title character who is the grandson of the world’s most famous detective. With an IQ of 180, the handsome and outgoing high school student moonlights as a private detective who solves murder cases that baffle even the most seasoned detectives. The series also features Taisho Iwasaki (岩﨑大昇) of the STARTO Junior unit Bishonen as Kindaichi’s best friend, Ryuta Saki.

The NTV series originally aired in Japan 24 Apr 2022 – 3 July 2022 and is available for international streaming (complete with an English Dub) on Hulu/Disney + (service different by territory)

🌑A SYMPHONY OF SHADOW AND LIGHT🌑

The song was a drastic change from 初心LOVE, with a deeper, darker, and more mysterious sound fitting for the series. The song also features darker colors and is almost exclusively dance-based, with some intricate CGI. Selling more than 632,000 physical units, the song has achieved double-platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

The second half of the double A-side, Sachiare (サチアレ), returns the group to the bright-pop sound they are known for. Written by Yuzu’s Yujin Kitagawa, the song is all about hope for the future. Ordinary days can lead to extraordinary tomorrows! As morning sunshine paints the sky with bright and vibrant hues of happiness and hope, the rhythm and melody string together a symphony of soda-pop sound and energetic joy!

The single is like a yin-yang, showcasing both the sexy and mysterious, as well as the bright and colorful sides of Naniwa Danshi. One thing the group has refused to do is be pigeonholed into one type of group or another. They’re unafraid to embrace emotion and color, but also just as comfortable being sexy and mysterious.

Like 初心LOVE before it, The Answer / Sachiare (サチアレ) blazed its way to double platinum status and remained on Oricon charts for an impressive 100 weeks, solidifying Naniwa Danshi’s position as noe only one of J-POP most colorful acts, but also one of it’s hottest.

With two Chart-topping singles under their belt, the stage was set for Naniwa Danshi’s most exciting project yet: their highly anticipated first studio album! Naniwa Danshi was just getting started, and the best was yet to come!
