The world of Rainbow Brite is a vast and colorful universe filled with lovable characters andinspiring stories. For forty years, the inhabitants of Rainbow Land have brightened the worldof children all over the globe. While none of the character iterations have ever matched theoriginal charm of the 80s line, the products released by The Loyal Subjects (TLS) are coming incredibly close.
A New Line of Rainbow Brite Products
Since the line launched late last year, new products have been introduced gradually, featuring characters in a colorful array of various. The lineup includes 3″ mini-figures (called Cheebee) of several Rainbow Land inhabitants, a 12″ rag doll, and a 5.5-inch Posable Fashion Doll of Rainbow Brite herself, a line of plush characters, and a line of 1.5″ micro-Cheebees of almost all characters in Rainbow Land.
So far everything TLS has released has been absolutely adorable, but it’s the latest addition to the 12″ rag-doll line that has gotten fans so excited. Moonglow.

Moonglow: The Rarest Star in Rainbow Land
Moonglow is one of the most beloved members of the Rainbow Brite family – and a personal favorite of this long-time fan. The character was created by the original doll designer Stefanie Eskander and while a “Dress Up” version of the doll was available for purchase in Europe, the original line was discontinued before the character could be released in the USA. This makes her one of the most collectible (and expensive) of the original doll line.
For the TLS releases, Moonglow’s soft plush body and dark pink yarn hair are incredibly screen accurate to the original series. Her adorable roto-face has been carefully sculpted by a team who clearly respect what’s come before. She’s a beautiful doll and a welcome addition to any Rainbow Brite collection and like the 12″ Rainbow Brite doll, Moonglow comes with a sheet of 7stickers.

Limited Edition Release
Moonglow is released as a limited edition, packaged in a quintessential yellow window gift-style box with rainbow accents. Designed to appeal to Rainbow Brite enthusiasts whoappreciate the rarity, artistry, and nostalgia of Moonglow, this doll is a prime example of thelove and care TLS is putting into the line. After making her grand return at the 2024 SDCC in July, the doll was quickly made available for pre-order on Amazon and is now starting to ship. As of this article, there are only seven left, so, if you want her, act fast. Like a shooting star, Moonglow’s availability will be fleeting.
There will be more Rainbow Brite soon so…
Stay Tuned.
