It’s been reported that Snow Man’s newest single, BREAKOUT / 君は僕のもの, sold over 830,000 units on its first day of release, and It’s also worth noting that the group is not on any streaming. These sales are physical.

A double A-side, the first half of the release “BREAKOUT” is the theme song to the new action-drama feature film 赤羽骨子のボディガード (Akabane Honeko no Bodyguard / English: Honeko Akabane’s Bodyguards) which stars the groups youngest member, Raul. With an intense, hard-rock dance beat, it’s the perfect action song.

The second half of the release “君は僕のもの” (English: “You are Mine”), with its tender lyrics and brite-pop sound, serves as the theme song for the new TV Asahi romantic-comedy drama series 青島くんはいじわる ( Aoshima-kun wa Ijiwaru / English: Aoshima is a Bad Boy) which stars group member Shota Watanabe.

“ドレス&タキシード” (English: Dress & Tuxedo) is a sweet, silly, and fun romantic song that encapsulates the energetic sweetness of who the individual men of the group appear to be. There is a moment in the bridge where the entire group cries out to the audience, asking them, “Will You Be My Princess!?!”

My answer? “Yes! Oh, yes! I absolutely accept!”

“What’s Your Colour” is one of those empowering love songs that lets you know you’re beautiful just as you are because there is no one as bright as you are – so don’t hide your beauty from the world.

The single was released in three different formats. A regular CD-only version includes all the songs above, and two CD/DVD combo sets are needed. Limited Edition A consists of the music video for Breakout and the Dance Version, a multi-angle focus to help keep your eyes strictly on your favorite member, and a short “Behind the Scenes” documentary of the shoot. Limited Edition B includes the music video for “You Are Mine” and a multi-angle version – which adds a more one-on-one date-like feel to the music video’s sweetness and the 2024 Snolympics.

Each first-press limited edition also comes with three amulet key chains. The Regular CD-only Version consists:Meguro Ren / Ryota Miyadate / Daisuke Sakuma, while Version A has Hikaru Iwamoto / Tatsuya Fukazawa / Raul, and  Version B rounds out the group with Shota Watanabe / Koji Mukai / Ryohei Abe)

Each version can be purchased wherever Japanese music and movies are sold, including CD Japan

As a fan, I love that the group is gaining traction in territories outside their home in Japan, and it seems that they do too!

As we slide into the third quarter of 2024, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for them!

There will be more Snow Man soon so…

Stay tuned!
